who are we signing/trading?

Re: McDyess to sign with Spurs
Yeah what is this about a sign and a trade. If the Spurs can haul in someone else that's solid this would have been the perfect offseason.

that's awesome. it's like they're seven year olds.
maybe this is manu's way of psychologically telling himself that if he does things young people do, his ankles will inevitably become younger in age.
if that's the case, more power to him.

Re: McDyess to sign with Spurs
Dice isn't involved in a sign-and-trade. The only free agent on the market that makes sense in a sign-and-trade to the Spurs is Josh Childress. But I highly doubt that since Childress wants to start.
Most likely BS but I guess we'll give the guy a chance to be proven right . . .

Outstanding signing, outstanding offseason. Dice is the perfect fit and will be hungry for a ring. The additions of Dice, Blair, Jack, Jefferson are the perfect acquisitions to the squad. This upcoming season is shaping to be extremely exciting.

Some guy claiming to have access to David Robinson's twitter page says DRob dropped a nugget about an impending sign and trade, with no other details.
I wanna know exactly what the tweet said before I believe it.
Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Spurs worked a sign-and-trade using Fin and Bonner in a two-for-one swap.

Apologies on the twitter reference, but I am uable to give that info out. DRob prefers to keep anonymous. Admiral Capital Group is where i work. Sorry, can't relinquish any more info at this point.

Re: McDyess to sign with Spurs
Wow! It has been a great offseason. The Spurs needed to retool the roster and they did it. This is the first year that I have liked what the front office has done in the offseason.
They are targeting impact players who can make a big difference now not the typical role players like the past who were not going to be enough anymore.

Now THAT would be a perfect offseason! Some teams might actually like to have Finley. Bonner contract $3.2 million and expiring not too bad either. We might just want to keep these guys, but would probably be able to upgrade the roster a bit this year without them.
If anyone told me that we would be able to trade away Oberto, Thomas, Bowen, Finley, and Bonner, I would never have believed it!

Re: McDyess to sign with Spurs
Maybe a sign and trade for a legitimate 7' player is in the works.

Depending on who they may be targeted, if it's even true at all, that would absolutely be more icing on the cake. The cake tastes pretty good right now. :downspin:

Probably more likely a sign-and-trade for a legitimate backup to RJ...if true.

Good luck, Dice. And, San Antonio, you're very lucky to have him. And, he's lucky to have a chance to play for a great team, franchise, and fan base.
Sincerely,
this Piston fan.
You're a classy poster, Jamstone.
Cheers to you! :toast
