Imagine having Manu, Mason, Jefferson and McClinton out there for a last second play. :wow:wow:wow
That J is deadly. Close or far, it doesn't matter. It's easy to him. Back in the day, there was this player that played for the Seattle Supersonics. Instant Offense. His name was Downtown Fred Brown. With the way that McClinton shoot's these, downtown might actually be a little close.
I kept hearing him compared to Eddie House, but Eddie always struck me as a Ron Mercer-type who learned to play within a system and extend his range to the NBA 3-point line.
I don't recall House having range anywhere near this.

kid also likes his scooby snacks... those are the most tats i've seen on a spurs player lol

Jack seems to have better handles than House and has a little more quickness. His step back jumper is nasty.
Ya, their shot is very similar. Very quick release off of that quick bounce step.
If he can be a pest on defense he's got a shot at minutes.
I personally don't give a damn about his defense. I just want him to come out firing and not turn the ball over. If he can shoot like he did in college, that would be a very nice weapon.
Any defense is just gravy. But he was drafted to score. I do not care how good he defends, if he is not hitting shots, he will not make it in the NBA. If he hits his shots and scores in spurts like he can and does not defend at all, he will have a good shot.
Eddie House as a senior
37.2 minutes
23.0 points
42.2% field goal
36.5% three-point
73 3PM
83.5% free throw
3.5 assists
2.2 turnovers
2.3 steals
Jack McClinton as a senior
32.2 minutes
19.3 points
44.9% field goal
45.3% three-point
101 3PM
88.5% free throw
2.8 assists
2.6 turnovers
0.8 steals
It's going to be interesting to see if McClinton can keep up his Eddie House type play in the NBA.
Strange to see that AST/TO ratio so much in Eddie's favor. It seems that Jack has the better handles from what I have seen?
Those are the two things that come to my mind when thinking of House.
I remember seeing him in Miami coming off the bench and just going off.
There's getting into the zone and then there's something that very few others do. I'm not sure what the hell it's called or how the hell they get there, but House has visited it more than a time or two.
The 61 timvp mentioned was one of the most absurd things I've ever seen. Hell, 40 in the college game is almost unheard of.:wow
I thought about getting a dog and naming it Scooby. Now I should name it Jack?
Eddie House Combine Measurements
5-foot-11.75 - Height (no shoes)
6-foot-3.5 - Wingspan
38.5 - Max Vertical
11-foot-1.5 - Max Vertical Reach
Jack McClinton Combine Measurements
5-foot-11.75 - Height (no shoes)
6-foot-2.5 - Wingspan
36.5 - Max Vertical
11-foot-0.5 - Max Vertical Reach
Pretty damn similar. Same exact height is pretty funny. House is slightly longer and slightly more athletic.
It goes to show how athletic NBA players are that House is considered unathletic and he damn near has a 40" vertical :lol
Jack definitely beats House in the muscle category. That helps when he drives the ball.
It's not hard to see why the comparisons are drawn, and he's coming to the right kind of team for him to have a chance to succeed.
He's got a coach who wants his point to shoot the ball and plenty distractions for a defense to give him the kind of looks to punish the opponent.
If he starts saving the day with 3-point bombs in the clutch, I'm suggesting the nickname Jack "Bower" McClinton.:hat
If we could only get the "24" second shot clock to make that beeping noise....
Like what you did there...:lol
I just don't remember House's shot extending out quite as far as McClinton's. He's going to get open shots this year, so we'll see if he can hang.
