Andrea has sucked all summer. I do not think he even wants to be there. He will be happy to lose and be done.:depressed

yes, TP is expected to play for the next game.

Re: The 2009 French NT thread
there was a polemic in France about TP's presence making his teamates shy and hesitant because of the big difference of level and status between him and the others.
that was especially during the last campaign, without Diaw, Batum who were the ones who showed guts tonight. i really hope that all those players will show the same intensity and will take their share of responsabilties, even with Tony back.

Jacques était en forme !
Good and important win for France especially in the context of the TP drama.
Very disapointing game for Nando 2 lay ups and that's it.
The FTs % is at least decent for France for once 19/28

There is 2 groups
Group A
Belgium
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Portugal
Group B
Finland
France
Italy
The winner of the Group A play against the winner of the Group B in 2 games (Home/Away).
The winner go to the Euro 2009.

I agree, one of the big problem of the team is a "give the ball to Tony, he will do something good with it" attitude.
Nevertheless a Batum / Diaw / Parker / Pietrus / Turiaff is a good core to play good BB.

Mancinelli injured for half a game or TP injured for the whole game ? what could be the biggest lost for his team ?

Re: The 2009 French NT thread

I'm talking abot today...We knew Parker wasn't going to play, so, during this match u cannot count him..IMHO...and read before, i told a complete France Team is reall better than Italy

the game was very close, so yes, both teams could have won it. and even with TP, the next one could be a very close one as well.
i can't remember the last time the french NT won a game easily, keeping a large advantage till the end of the game.

Pietrus could if his health is OK. (well, if his team says so indeed).

Re: The 2009 French NT thread
Mancinelli could maybe have made a difference in the 4th quarter or in the OT but the true reason why Italy lost is that they couldn't hit a 3. 3/22 on 3 pointers is damn ugly.

and France shooting near 70% of FTs which was quite unlikely :lol

Re: The 2009 French NT thread
Again, good start and.... "ok men who play cards?"
I hope the addition of Parker won't kill the present chermistry. The ball movement was fine tonight. And we know Tony can jeopardize the tempo.

Re: The 2009 French NT thread
I watched most of the 2nd half of the Fr v. It game..thanks to Bruno. Nando seemed to defer to the older players a lot. He nailed a big three when they really needed it. Other than that, he either passed up shots finding open players instead, or stayed out on the perimeter to keep spacing the floor for isos. I would have like to see Nando put into situations where he could move without the ball and feel like he had the green light to score when he had the ball.
Batum had the green light and he hit a big shot or two, but the airball at the end of reg was quite sad.
I thought the Belinelli FTs to tie the game in reg were a gift. The defender seemed to be set enough to at least draw a non-call but Marco sold it.
Boris Diaw should be more dominant than he showed today. He could have easily scored a dozen more if he had been more aggressive.
