More scare-mongering LIES from GB:
Glenn Beck thinks ‘cash for clunkers’ site takes over your computer
By David Edwards and Daniel Tencer
Published: August 2, 2009
TV host Glenn Beck has a theory about the real reason the US government launched the “cash-for-clunkers” program: It’s a secret conspiracy to take control of your computer.
At the heart of Beck’s theory is the Cars.gov website, where the public can find information about the wildly popular cash-for-clunkers program. On his Fox show Friday, Beck displayed a “terms of use” warning, which he claimed was from the Cars.gov site, stating that anyone accessing the site would be effectively making their computer a part of the US government computer network — and the US government therefore has lawful access to all the files on that computer.
There’s only one problem with Beck’s theory. According to Jed Lewinson at the Daily Kos, the privacy statement is not from Cars.gov at all, but from the Esc.gov website, where car dealers log in to log transactions.
But that factual problem did not discourage Beck and his co-hosts.
“Here you are, trying to be a good citizen … and guess what, they are jumping right inside you [sic], seizing all of your personal and private information, and it’s absolutely legal, Glenn. They can do it,” said Fox’s Kimberly Guilfoyle.
Added Guilfoyle: “They can continue to track you, basically forever, once they’ve tapped into your system … it’s so broad that they can do just about anything.”
Beck concluded: “I know who our czars are now, and this collection of these czars, these are evil people. These are wicked, crazy, frightening people.”

Continuing the traditional conservative/Repug "principle" of lying into alternative reality.
:lol glen
Hmmm. Ok. I'll bite. Define "anyone" then. If this read "it is completely false" then I'd be shame on beck. This just states that the terms were from another site the dealers access. We splittin' hairs here?
:lol Just went to cars.gov and I clicked every link. There is no privacy notice anywhere. There is one link for signing up to receive updates; all that asks for is an email address.
The clause actually exists, but only when a dealer actually logs in to conduct a transaction within the CARS system. It's basically a "don't even try to defraud us" warning.
Here it is. Click it yourself.
If you dare.

Unauthorized or improper use of this system may result in administrative disciplinary action and civil and criminal penalties."
"of this system", lawyers can't write for shit. "this" has an ambiguous antecedent.
"this system" is CARS (my interpretation) or the dealers' computers (Beck's paranoid/hate-government/inflammatory interpretation)?
Given the trustworthiness and honesty of car dealers, combined with severe financial stress they are in, scaring the fraudulent shit out of them is sensible.
Wtf do conservatives care about this? I mean, the government can already sniff information packets through the internet with FISA/Patriot Act now. Not a huge difference.
I don't get people like Beck or Olberman, Maher or Rush, sometimes they have good points (except Olberman, that dude is a boob lets replace Meadows for Olberman) but they just go way over the top. I love me some Maher. He was one of the reasons I voted democrat back in 2006 among many others. But he gets stupid when he says something like America is stupid. He loses credibility. I give Maher some credit, he does rip the Prez from time to time. Rush makes some good points as well but then he goes off like ass and loses credibility.
I wish they would all stop making up shit and stop being so freaken emotional about every freaken topic and most important, don't always take there partys side. I mean fuck it gets so old. This Crowley-Gates thing was made political. Chances are if you choose Crowley you are a republican, if you choose Gates you are a democrat. Pretty sad. Maher says and he is right that if you are a racist you probably are a republican. I get that. I am no way even close to saying ALL republicans are racist but chances are if you are a racist you are a republican and not a democrat. I think it is fair to say if you are a minority you are a democrat. 95 % of balck people voted for Obama. That still floors me. Please no smartass remarks that 100 percent of whites voted for a white dude in the 2004 election. Stupid. This all may change over the next 3 years but that is how it is now.
These Becks and Meadows of the world need to quit cheerleading for one party and start talking policies. It is hurting America.
Who is Meadows?
Ah. Every once in awhile I see some of her show. She tends to criticize Obama for not being left enough on gay rights (surprise!) and for continuing several of Bush's policies.
"America is stupid"
correct! Let me count the ways ...
^^^God you're a douche.
Everybody has a schtick. With Rachel, her thing is gay rights, Laura Ingraham's big thing is abortion, Beck specializes in scaring the shit outta simpletons, Hannity/Olbermann/Rush are general purpose schills and only go off script if they feel the script isn't conservative/liberal enough, O'Reilly just wants things to be the same as when he was a kid, and somebody like a Medved or Prager are decent religious minds.
I didn't know he did one. I googled real quick and saw this:

I actually winced when i saw it.
My favorite thing about Olbermann is when he does the worst person in the world. It's usually either Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, or someone that works for FOX News or is a Republican and/or conservative. I also think his obsession with Bill O'Reilly is hilarious.
