i was a legends drunk off my ass. this was the most exciting game i ever watched. robert horrys best quarter of his life.
I was thinking that Big Shot Rob was the biggest gangster I've ever seen in my life. Love that man.
Fuck you, Larry Brown and your dumb-ass play-calling.
When Horry subbed in it should be common knowledge to cover him and in most cases it was and he STILL would make silly clutch plays.
That play where Horry pumped the ball each way then dropped it on Rasheed.. just disgusting.
i just remember detroit pulling away and then when it went into overtime i said noway the spurs have anything left.....then robert horry went into pimp mode
The greatest clutch performance in NBA history, and I don't think it's much of a debate..Robert Horry, a clutch player, but just a role player, comes into the game and just completely dominates..he wasn't just hitting open shots..he was taking contested 3s, made an incredible dunk, got in for putbacks..it was just amazing..
I remember thinking.."why the fuck is Horry taking that?" or "OK Horry, you're due for some misses, stop shooting"..and he just kept making them..me and my brother flipped out when he made that last one..
That quarter alone spawned the semi-ridiculous "Horry belongs in the HOF" debate.
I was at Kori's...rockin' an Horry Jersey. :smokin
Both teams played hard.......
Yeah, I left Horry wide open, but.......
....both teams played hard
Anyone noticed after Horry hit his 3 he grabbed his nutz walking back down the court?
Priceless!!!!!!!!
I have the game on bootleg DVD!
Manu leveled up his play on game 5 and that was one of the factors that made the whole team believe...
OT was a destiny sent thing... TD should have dunked the put back and ended it in regulation... :wakeup
I love Duncan's expression at the end of clip. He's hugging Horry and has a sublime look of half-exhaustion and half disbelief at what Horry did.
Duncan was upset at himself. He had 26 points, but on 11-24 and 19 boards (8 offensive), but he couldn't get them over. (He was also a miserable 4-11 at the line). Horry saved him. Duncan said post game that it was one of the best performances he'd ever been a part of.
He also said this:

video below does not reference game 5 of 05 finals, but it pretty much sums up Robert Horry: :toast

i remember thinking how screwed we were going into this game...remembering how we got absolutely hammered in game 4 and watching that exchange between tim duncan and gregg poppovich on the bench in the 4th quarter thinking it was all over...the nerves and stress of the game...
i remember doing carpet angels in front of my then brand new plasma when horry hit that shot and feeling the way tim duncan looked after rob hit that shot...
then we lost game 6 and i didn't talk to anyone for 2 days until after game 7...best championship ever 2005
The press conference starts at the 3:27 mark. It's pretty funny, Horry is standing on the side waiting for his turn while Duncan talks.Quote:

Should never admit this, but;
Game 6 - my wife's a big fan, but had hurt her leg; couldn't make it to the game (11th row center court, season ticket holders).
Felt bad leaving her at home; so I called a broker to see what he'd give me for our two seats.
50 Benjamins
Mixed emotions when the Spurs dropped Game 6, because:
I got 80 of them for Game 7
Steve Smith of the (at the time) Kings bought the seats.
I'll never forget the moment of that last 3. My mom, who I turned on to the Spurs and is now the biggest Spurs fan I know, couldn't watch it. She thought she was going to have a heart attack..lol. She walked out of the room and told me to tell her what happened. I did the play by play...when I said.."Horry for THREE....YES!!!!" She lost it..lol...it was great.
Ball don't lie!!!!
I was at my friends house. Screamed so loud his wife never forgave me. bitch
