Goddam blackout rules in AUSTIN!
I just moved into an apartment complex that exclusively offers Verizon FIOS. AFAIK, they don't offer League Pass at all. Anyone know if I'm mistaken or if they plan on offering it some time in the near future?
PC - I'm in Austin with TWC and had League Pass last year. Although it says "blackout" sometimes on the tv guide, they actually show most of the games even when it says blackout. I think there were only about 5 games last year that I could not watch because of the "blackout". I plan to get it again this year.
Elliott is definately one of the bigger homers out of all the announcers, but he doesnt deserve to be mentioned with the guy from Boston.
I see Bruce Bowen retiring and sitting right next to Sean. Those two would be one hell of a team.
They will show the Jan 14th Game between the Lakers and Spurs @ 7 pm Central on NBA TV today. No need for league pass.. :hat
What else is there to watch besides basketball?
well Elliott does not call the opponents dirty or call the refs out every other play like the celtic announcers. or does he???
You all fail and will have to repeat the grade. The correct answer was: Nothing. There is nothing else besides basketball.
Come ready to learn next year!
That's a joke... I've had LP for years.... most of the broadcast teams are horrible, and super low budget presentation. Sacramento is one of the 1st that comes to mind when I think of bad ones, and they have it listed as good. San Antonio's broadcast is very high quality.
Obviously I'm biased... but I wouldn't want to listen to anybody but Sean. He has such good insider info, he's friends with the players, he knows what he's talking about, knows the game, knows the refs, knows the organization inside and out... he's just a huge homer... that's his only flaw I can see from an unbiased view. But to me, him being a homer is a good thing, and he's not an ignorant homer. He's speaking truth, he gets on the Spurs, refs, opponents all equally when they're fuckin up. He just wants us to win, and he should.
And I used to like Dick Stockton w/ Sean, but Bill Land has definatly grown on me alot, and I'm a fan of Bill Land as well. He brings alot more energy than Stockton. "OH MAMA!!!"
I know this has been brought up before but thought I would take the opp to ask..Can someone give an idea if all Spurs home games are televised with local commentary? Anyone have an idea of how League Pass is with COX communications in Southern CA?
I'm in Southern California with Cox as my provider.
We don't get a lot of Spurs home call. It varies, but I think last season we got under 20 games with Spurs call. I wish LP would do something more fair, like have the home team's call for every game. Then we'd get Spurs call for half the season.
Cox has been fine for me. They have the early bird savings, and it's on an automatic renewel every year. They'll break the payment up over three or four months if you want to.

(you know, that guy from the Virgin Islands)
Thanks for the info duncan228. I tried to find the ad for LP on their site but no luck. Do you know when early bird savings start? I will probably send them an unfriendly suggestion to do something about the broadcast crew.
It will probably start mid-October.
Here's their page on it, it's not available yet. The early bird should be next month. There's always a free preview the first week of the season, I'm not sure if you can still get the early bird then (I order it before the season tips).

SpursTalk has done nasty grams about the call to LP before, maybe if enough of us squeak again they'll listen.
