If he had said something about your mom directly to paint her in a bad light, then your argument would have legs.

But he didn't.

Whose doing the policing here? You're the one nagging about someone's supposed attack against your mother.

And btw.. fine. I understand how that could bring hurt no matter the intention, or not.

If you feel horrible, you have every right to. But to use this as a "Remember the Alamo" moment, no longer helps emit any sympathy for you.

Nah, I just prefer people not make certain kinds of personal attacks on me. Most people would want to know why, so I just cut to the chase.

I've done it before without this kind of fanfare. If you want to keep posting about me and my perceived motives, feel free. Frankly, I don't know why you are so interested.
