Will the next decade be better?
And yet, two or three decades from now many people will look back on the era nostalgically.
Didn't care for this decade, no sir, I didn't like it.
Cause wearing your cap like this became trendy:

....it's pretty bad for the U.S., but it could have been much, much worse...
We aren't out of the woods yet. The ripples in today's markets caused by Dubai World's default is proof enough of that.
This decade has sucked ass. The 1990s were way better.
This decade has overall sucked....for both personal and economic reasons.
too many bubbles still to be popped.
the '00 looks like two big ass bubbles waiting to be popped...
pop
I'm tempted to move most my retirement funds to overseas funds. Right now, I only have 20% or 30% allotted to overseas funds.
Wish I could read tea leaves better.
Even the Anti-Christ got elected... :lol
Everything he brings up, could you not do the same for every decade? Natural disasters, financial troubles, violent "peace time"?
I hate generalizing about decades, especially since 1999 had more in common with 2000 than it did with 1990. There's an element of arbitrariness to this kind of thinking.
That said, the last 9-10 years have been good for me.
Yep. So I pick up a bottle of HEB apple juice yesterday and notice a stamp on the bottle saying it's made from concentrate imported from china. Fuck that, I stick it back on the shelf and grab the more expensive USDA certified organic stuff. This morning I look at the ingredients and it says made from concentrate imported from china. So I think WTF I can't even buy american made apple juice in the land of Johnny Appleseed, how badly have we fucked ourselves over?
Once the government realizes that hair of the dog doesn't really cure a hangover we can get back to the business of paying for our mistakes.
Quote:
A hangover is due partly to poisoning by the toxic chemicals into which alcohol is converted by the body and the other components of the alcoholic drink; partly due to dehydration and improper levels of electrolytes, blood glucose, and/or B-vitamins; and partly to the body's reaction to withdrawal from alcohol. The symptoms of a hangover are similar to those of withdrawal, namely a throbbing headache, nausea, and possible vomiting. Thus consuming more alcohol ("hair of the dog") may help by blunting some of these symptoms,[4] but will only aggravate the symptoms once the liver breaks the alcohol down, because the body will have additional toxins to deal with. Some researchers have suggested that ethanol may help dilute other alcohols that cause many of the hangover symptoms, but no controlled studies were carried out.[5][6]
Meh, it wasn't that bad of a decade.
I don't know how bad it really was compared to the decades previous to my lifetime. All I know is that the 90's were the motherfucking shit in every way possible. And that 2000-2009 has left me cynical, jaded, angry and hopeless in just about every way possible.
So it's not only that the 2000's sucked donkey ass, it's that they followed a decade of glorious bliss. The dichotomy has been hard to stomach.
I got married to the best wife ever, been healthy and had bread to bring to the table. Can't really complain.
'Bout sums it up for me as well on a personal level.
Problem is though, world/national events have a way of affecting one personally. I think we plebs havent quite felt the burden of current events yet.
Like BB and Co. were saying...the 00's are the 20's. What we refer to as the "Roaring 20's". That is a scary thought.
