start manu or mason. bogans can't hit a shot. thats all.
he started off pretty good. I wonder what happened?
lotta thread action.
He's a good role player that SHOULD come off the bench.
the bench is great. But the starters it's Tim and tony and the other guys just don't bring it every game. Bowans, McDyess and Jefferson haven't done much on a consistent basis, but if you bench Bogans you mess with the bench. Maybe we should start Hairston.
?????
Why is there all this 'Bogans can't hit a shot." talk the day after he played 11 minutes and DID NOT ATTEMPT a field goal? You can't make if you don't take.....
and for the record, this season's #s
FG 32/74=.432
3pt 15/45=.333
I would call him a 'streaky shooter'.
Seriously, what's this all about?
There's one thing by saying, "Start ____ instead of Keith Bogans"
There's another thing, "Keith Bogans sucks"
Have you watched all of our games? He's no All-Star, he's not a pretty player, but he's pretty much a "model Spur"-an undersized, under-appreciated, under-paid journeyman with limited offensive skills that plays his heart out every night and keeps his head strong through shooting slumps, losses, and blown defensive assignments. He knows his role and is 110% committed to his team.
and since you probably haven't noticed- anytime Bogans scores more than 5 points(he's averaging 4.4 but I projected a powerful, well-functioning 2010 Spurs team included Bogans averaging 5ppg- a 3 and a 2 or FTs; he's averaging 4.4) the Spurs win.
Prior to last night's messy loss to the Suns he scored 8, 8, and 9.
Keith Bogans' assignment is to be a strong defensive force and spread the floor with outside shooting. What has he done wrong?
But since we are all so concerned with offense, take a look at the three games I mentioned prior to the Suns game:
3/5 FG, 3/3 3-pt
3/4 FG, 1/2 3-pt
2/5 FG, 2/4 3-pt
and a combined 3/4FT=.750(which is just about career average, both of which are better than/equal to Duncan and Parker's career FT)
The only explanations for the Bogans hating are:
1)not watching the games
2)not understanding the term 'role player'
3)being unnecessarily negative
4)not understanding the game of basketball
dude, you start way too many threads.
bogans had a nice game against the warriors. bench him?
WFT?? he played decent D and was active. Manu turns the ball over way, way, way too much. And mason... yeah, ok start Mason. why not?
Bogans looked good tonight..I'd like to see him shoot more though, instead of hesitating and driving at the wrong times..sometimes he scores inside, but a lot of the time it leads to a turnover from putting somebody else in the wrong spot..
Bench Tp9gospursgo!!
Good solid performance by Bogans.. even the GS announcers appreciated his game.
Good game by Bogans. He read this thread lol sorry for the hate!
Bogans played good tonight. He is a good Starter. He provides good Defense while having a very reliable 3-Point Jumpshot. Remind you of anyone?
In before the lock...
Good showing against Warriors. I wish Malik would get a chance but just too many players in the rotation already.
This is what Bogans does, he comes to play against those 7-15 teams like the warriors. I want to see Bogans show up and post those numbers against a team of quality for a change.
To measure how good Bogans was last night, you have to look at this stat:
Ellis: 35 points in 31 shots.
And that's all you really can ask for. His scoring is just gravy, much like Bowen way back when.
I don't act like anything. He did a really good job on him, considering Ellis lit us up for 40+ at home the last time we saw him. Mason did not cover Ellis. It was a job between Bogans, Manu and Tony. If you actually happened to watch the game, which I doubt you did considering what you typed up there, he got most of his points when Bogans was sitting down and the Warriors went on a run to close the second quarter. He was immediately checked by Bogans in the third, where he only scored 1 point. You're not going to stop Ellis anyways, you just have to make him work hard for what he gets, and Bogans did that.
This is what Pop had to say about him:
"I thought Keith Bogans had a great all-around game. He played his (butt) off against Ellis," Popovich said. "We thought (Ellis) had to work hard for what he got."
Feel free to call out Bogans when he doesn't have a good game, but that was not the case last night. He shot much better than Mason to boot too.
Yea right ElNono! Who cares about what a HOF coach says with all the wisdom spewed by some on this board.
I already watched the game and deleted it my DVR so I can't go back and confirm what your saying. If I still had the tape I would go back over it and find every Ellis' basket and who he scored on.
I found this however.

At .33/1.48 one of Ellis' basket comes on George Hill. So perhaps your information is wrong too :P
If Pop says he did a good job on Ellis, I stand corrected.
I forgot to mention that Hill actually was (trying) to guard Ellis in the second quarter when he got loose and scored at will.
Bogans is a beast even if he is a poor mans bruce bowen but hell he can knock down the 3 at times something bowen was starting to struggle last year and can sorta create i like bogans
The famous thread starter returns too soon...
