Dirk is awesome, but I'm still betting nearly every GM out there would rather have Duncan, even for just this season. The only category Dirk is clearly better than Tim now is in scoring. Everything else still belongs to 21.
Dirk deserves to be a starter.
This is all star game starter, not who would you start a franchise with discussion. IMO Dirk deserves the starting nod for carrying his team to 1st place in the division to this point as really the only thing close to clutch performer on that team.Quote:

I know this is somewhat hypocritical because the Spurs argued on Duncan's behalf just two years ago to have him changed from a C to a F on the ballot, but he really should be changed to a C at this point. Let's face it, last season and this season, he has played strictly center. Why is Stoudemire, who starts and mostly plays F, listed as a C? It makes no sense and because of this, he, not Duncan, will be the man in the middle for the West.

Personally, I couldn't agree more with this. Duncan hasn't been a PF since Robinson left. But Spurfans are the ones who get boners calling Timmy the best PF of all time, so you can't have it both ways.Quote:

The vote count in the thread title is completely made up. The NBA hasn't released voting returns since Jan 7th, at which point Dirk had a 50,000-vote lead over Duncan. The reason there's no link for an up-to-the-minute count is that there isn't one.
