There is no way the Spurs can get Amare. These trades were discussed last season, last off-season, and this season, draft day etc. At first, you will laugh at this trade, but the fans would turn on the Suns and their front office if they cannot get a lot of young talent for Amare if they can't sign him come 2010 FA. Considering this is what the Suns asked for, there is no way the Spurs can get Amare, unless Kerr is a real dumbass.
LaMarcus Aldridge + Raef Lafrentz (expiring of about 12 million) + Jerryd Bayless for Amare Stoudemire
(Pritchard trusts his young guys in Bayless and Aldridge a lot)
Al Jefferson + 5th pick for Amare Stodemire + 14th pick
(Did not succeed, Minnesota ended up aquiring Rubio's rights)
Andres Biedrins + Brendan Wright + 7th pick for Amare Stoudemire + 14th pick
(Did not succeed, the Warriors had no interest in giving up Curry after he was drafted)
We'd probably have to give up Hill and Jefferson to get him plus the rights to Splitter. It would essentially be trading the future at a chance for now. It would be an awful move.
