Game Blog: Spurs vs. Bulls - Jan. 25
Looks like the Bulls are coming in to this game hobbling (Noah with plantar fasciitis, Brad Miller's knee and Derrick Rose's illness). Expect them to come out like wounded Bulls...
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs. Bulls - Jan. 25
It all sounds like a win until the Spurs play down to the level of the competition.

Definitely. And I can't wait to watch him go up against Rondo later, too.

Great, I can just picture it now...DRose misses the game, the Spurs let down their guard, the rest of the Bulls show up inspired, and Aguy Youveneverheardof goes for a career night.
This is the danger, Spurs. *knocks on wood*

Apparently Noah is also doutbful for tonite

Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs. Bulls - Jan. 25
I fully expect the Spurs to come out gunning and give us hope, and then lose almost all of the lead by halftime, then suck bg time in the 3rd, and then make a futile attempt to catch up.

I don't see that typical scenario happening tonight.
a) we're on an extended losing streak
b) If the Bulls are w/o Noah AND Rose, they may not have the scoring punch to win
I do worry about, in the process of going all out (and this goes for the rest of the season against the tougher teams), Pop plays our Big 3 too much and tires them out before the playoffs. They're also susceptible to injury more when they're in constant catch-up mode, which we're in now.

Rose and Noah probably out.
Starters: Hinrich Salmons Deng Gibson Miller
Bench: Pargo Thomas Johnson Hunter
Watch James Johnson or Pargo light up the Spurs. Too bad Aaron Gray got traded. That would have been funny to see.

I didn't even know Aaron Gray was off the Bulls, see, he is so irrelevant that no one gives a shit.

Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs. Bulls - Jan. 25
Part of me expects that we will struggle this whole season with all these new people on the roster. But I don't think it's because all of these players with proven track records have suddenly lost all of their abilities.
I definitely think we'll be really good next season and in more of a position to win it all. After all, the guys will (hopefully, if theres no big shakeup) have a year to learn their new team identity and go through another training camp.
Another thing to predict is that after the free agent summer, many other teams will be adding new big talent and will be going through the growing pains we're going through now, just as we're hitting our stride in Duncan's last 2 years. That gives us the advantage next year.
Spurs - 2011 NBA Champions.

The Bulls have been hot as of late...they beat Phoenix and Houston in their own houses...a win tonight would be a quality win for the Spurs.

Spurs have to be active on the boards. The Bulls are first in the NBA with 45.50.

Found it. This is recent news, right? Obviously, we won't see Devin Brown play the Spurs this season again.

He probably had one of those nights when you know you can't miss. Miller had a very good career, considering he was even undrafted. Brad Miller will definitely not duplicate the rebounding ability of Noah, that is not possible, that is my only concern. Noah's hustle is what makes the Bulls. I really just want to see Tyrus Thomas and his basketball IQ this game, seeing a lottery talent screw up like Tyrus does really makes me lol. Another guy who really impressed is Taj Gibson. He rebounds and hustles, hit the jumper decently enough. James Johnson needs to hit the weights, lose the fat and gain the muscle.

Don Harris just reported on WOAI that Rose is expected to play even though he is sick. You're right Brad Miller is not the rebounder Noah is....BUT ...Noah isnt the shooter and has nowhere near the range that Brad Miller does. Miller can stroke the 3 for a big man as well...

We lost to the Bulls last time around because of Noah, I still have the shimmies. That guy is good. Every now and then you see him collecting 20+ rebounds, even with plantar. Respect! Now that Miller is old, the Spurs need to just stick to him. I am not worried about shooters, that is for sure, they can get cold or hot anytime, if they score, they score, the interior presence is what bothers me. Who rebounds more usually wins the game. Rose is playing, that is cool. We might see the real Rose.

Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs. Bulls - Jan. 25
Alright I am ready to ROLL.
Let's fucking destroy these guys and get back to playing Spurs ball. Sweep the rest of the homestand and let's go on a rodeo rampage.

Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs. Bulls - Jan. 25
I like the starting 5 even though the result of the last game sucked.
No more Bogans with significant playing time. He's had enough chances.

-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs. Bulls - Jan. 25
rose and noah are playing ! nice
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs. Bulls - Jan. 25
That was awesome from Blair.
Great to see Blair kick the ball out twice to reset the offense!
That is the way to do it DeJuan rather than him going back up and trying to throw a bad shot up kicks back out to reset the offense. Good play DeJuan.

vbookie:
Will the Spurs build and blow a 15 point lead? Y/N
edit:
Yes - 3/2
No - 2/1
and lose by double digits - 4/1

Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs. Bulls - Jan. 25
The Bulls allow 98 points per game. The Spurs should be able to score a hundred plus.
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs. Bulls - Jan. 25
Typical adrenalin rush to start the game. Well see how things shake out once chicago gets involved.
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs. Bulls - Jan. 25
This is by far the fastest I've seen Tony all year.
Spurs playing well.

Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs. Bulls - Jan. 25
Tony Parker has been part of the score 100%.

Ladies and gentleman, if Tony parker plays anything like this in the playoffs and we can get Jeffy going, I present to you your 2010 NBA champions, the San Antonio Spurs

I cross my fingers but since few games now he is playing damn well during the first half and then he is struggling especialy in the 3rd normally he come back strong for the last min of the 4th. We need a more balanced effort.

knew when Hinrich hit that 3, Bulls were gonna go on a run. Spurs need to quit settling for jumpers at moments like this.

Let's see, but I think he looks different tonight. I can see some real focus from TP tonight.

Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs. Bulls - Jan. 25
Don't much care about their offense at the moment. The defense is still pretty lousy.

You are correct. The Spurs need to be more aggressive in those situations and not settle for jumpers.
The defense has to be better though too. We gotta play defense.
