odd are that they can't lose every game. LOL

Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
With 6'10 Al Horford at Center and 6'9 JSmoove at Power Forward, the lure of Small Ball will be too great for Pop to resist.
I just know it, Pop. You gonna surprise us?
Should be a very entertaining up and down the court game though.
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
But we'll end up losing this one.

I'd rather RJ at the 4 than that 4-guard line-up Pop trotted out the other night with TP, Hill, Mason, Manu, and TD as the lone big....

Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
damn i like the hawks core is should be fun to c how the spurs match up tonight at the at&t center
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
Come on, about 2 hours before the game, I expect a trade headline anytime.
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
Tonight is about RJ. He needs to step it up tonight. I don't care about points.. i want to see intangibles or I won't be happy.... okay maybe if he goes for 30 =)

Isn't it a bitch when you know your own team so well you know when to bet against them?
In this instance however I would defenitely put my money on the spurs tonight.

I actually thought they would beat the Bulls last game, but for some odd reason, the Spurs were favored to win by 8.5 points when I placed the bet..so I had to bet on the Bulls with those odds, even though I hoped and believed the Spurs could beat an average team @ home..a 50$ bet got me 225$, too hard to pass up..
If they're going to play like pussies, I might as well make money to make up for their losses..hopefully I lose some of the $ I've won tonight..

Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
Pop comes out with a 4 guard line up to start just to mess with our minds. Book it!:lol

Yo' history majors, when was the last time the spurs dropped 4 straight at home lol?

The last time the Spurs dropped 3 in a row at home was before Tim Duncan came out of college in the 1996-1997 season. The Spurs dropped 6 straight at home to end the 1997 season. Beat that. That was what I read before though. I am not sure whether this is right.

Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
What you wanna bet we will be doing well leading the game right up until Pop rolls out the small ball and by the time he calls time out we will be down by 10-20 points.

Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
Just get a win, dammit. I'm getting sick of watching these Ls. I don't care if it's a blowout or a comeback by 40. I don't care if we squander a lead, or never even build one. Just take it one step at a time, and get back into the freaking Win column.
I miss the days when the League was full of pushovers.

I think you got the order wrong.
Spurs grab the lead in the 1st quarter.
2nd quarter comes, Pop puts in small ball. After a 6-0 run by the Hawks, Spurs call timeout. Pop then proceeds to continue with small ball until the 3rd quarter when the Spurs go down by 8. The momentum already shifted and then the Spurs will eventually get screwed.

Cool. So Pop is dissecting the team bit by bit by changing his starting lineup again. What an excellent idea.

Sean has to bring a yoga mat to the games now to help him deal with all the bad calls we've been seeing lately.

Jeff McDonald: It's about time on McDyess. Blair is much better suited to being a role player.
Just because he has no sources he's mad at yahoo report :lol
Quote:
Jeff McDonald: Here's what the Yahoo! report said, in a nutshell: "The Spurs have talked amongst themselves about maybe possibly hypothetically thinking about considering starting to really think about possibly putting together a deal for Amare."
Jeff McDonald: So, it could be right. I mean, I'm sure the Spurs have "considered" many things.

Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
tinkering with the lineups again Pop!
I swear for a team that keeps claiming they are going in the right direction, there are so many lineup changes.

Are they showcasing Dice :lol
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
I don't agree with the Dice move either. The guy has already said he's more comfortable coming off the bench, and as soon as Blair was moved into the starting rotation, the Spurs seemed to stop showing up with shit first quarters.
I guess we can only wait and see. I do like the Manu/Blair combo on the P&R, and the Manu/Dice combo seemed to have lost its mojo.

There was a short while there Manu was spoon-feeding Dice on that jumper.
Then again, this may be due to the fact that Antonio seems to have lost him shot.
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
Dice starting? Wow, Pop is really brain-dead. Every time the spurs face an young, athletic team he will put his oldest guys in.
Hello, how about Ian??

I don't think I am disappointed. I just feel really pissed off at all the losses when Pop tries to play his 5 best players on the court, unfortunately most of the guards, so usually he winds up with small ball because the guards deserve more minutes than his bigs, so he steals the minutes of the bigs to get more playing time for his guards, like George Hill.

-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
Good follow by Dice. It is almost February, so he might just show up.
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
Spurs looking decent with two bigs on the floor.
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
Dice looking good. Hopefully it means his second half form is coming.
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
Just waiting for this lead to diminish...
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
RJ off to a good start. Looks good as long as he doesn't have to play PF.
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
Jefferson actually looks like a good player in every 1st quarter..it's usually the rest of the game where he completely disappears..
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
I like when Hill takes it to the basket, though he still needs to have alittle more confidence.
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
Hill guarding Johnson? Can this team ever not be either severely undersized or ill-equipt to guard the opposition's best player? Hill has no chance in this match-up, because Johnson can easily overpower him or just shoot up over the top.
How long until the Spurs are trailing? Over/under when Ginobili checks in.

There you go. Timeout by the Hawks. Now, Pop is going to play small ball.
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
I love Hill's layups. He just throws it up and it goes in.
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
Great start. Pleeeease Pop go with two bigs for the rest of the game.

Spurs are #2 in the NBA in winning 1st quarters, only behind the Lakers..I won't be excited until we have a lead by the end of the 3rd..

That's because he's playing his normal position in the 1st quarter.

Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
nice one georgie ...the thing is those could be moment catalyst or momentum killer because if he doesn't make that one, no one might push the ball like that again all night
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
If old school Spurs' defense is truly dead, there's no reason to play slow down, grind-it-out games anymore. We have the personnel this year to really push the ball and get as many easy baskets as possible.
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
Spurs have taken 13 shots, with only 2 of them coming outside the lane. Like all teams, shorter shots = better chance to win.

Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
This is one of those nights when PF doesn't bother TP I suppose.
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
We're playing very well, great to see Spurs attacking rather than setting for Js
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
Good defense leads to good offense. 14 of 29 of the Spurs points came from fast breaks.
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27

Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
I love this attacking style of basketball. Spurs have so many weapons when they play like this.
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
I think that Stoudemire trade rumor woke these guys up to play. If you dont show up, you will be part of the "trade."
-
Re: Game Blog: Spurs vs Hawks - Jan 27
Lookin good. One stretch where we couldn't get a basket but overall very happy.
Not that I'm complaining but anyone know why Dice got the start? I hope it continues.

All of this inside scoring and against a shot blocking team. Makes you wonder.
