today is a day to remember
great game tonight timmy....keep it up:)
His rebounding average is going to shoot up like crazy (about half a point which is a lot for one night of work.)
Timmy was absolutely MONSTER tonight!!! :hat
tim having career nights at 33 y/o.... yessir
Where's that fucknut who claimed Tim was on his way down?
but... but... Mcdyess had only 4 RB's!!....
:rolleyes
Career high boys, we've witnessed history
Wow. Timmy is the man!
I wonder when was his last 20-20 game though - or a game where he caught more than 25 boards. Too lazy to check, too busy as well gah.
wow, that looks like a dwight howard stat. wonder what timmy's career high for rebounds is?
I remember him getting 25 in Miami like it was yesterday (he had a pretty sweet baseline dunk to the opposite side in that game too:D)
Tim Duncan
10,962 total career rebounds
38 rebounds to reach 11,000
I don't know if these figures were before or after tonight's game.
Last 20-20 game:
Game 3 - 2008 WCF vs. Lakers
May 25th, 2008
22 points, 21 rebounds
Games with at least 25 boards:
Tonight
21 points, 27 rebounds
Game 5 - 2002 WC Semis vs. Lakers
May 15th, 2002
34 points, 25 rebounds
February 1, 2003 vs. Miami
17 points, 25 rebounds
Sad that this is what we soil our drawers about these days.
Oldest player to ever get 27 or more rebounds in 35 minutes or less in the modern era..
Monster game for TD.
But I still remember his 20/20 in game 6 of the 2003 Finals agianst NJN. Now that was a thing of beauty.

27 rebounds. That's pretty damn impressive.
Let us also not forget RJ's momentous contribution to tonight's win, a veritable Pippen to his Jordan, behold: 11 points, 3 assists, and 5 rebounds, all in just 32 minutes.
This season is a lock.

I'm more impressed with the 11-11 ft stat.
I didn't "manufacture" that stat LOL, it's true..
Basketball-reference has games that go back until 86-87..in that time, there have been 12 instances of 33+ year olds getting 27 rebounds or more(including Duncan)..Duncan is the only one to do it in under 38 minutes..
It's funny how that works...all of Duncan's averages over the past five years are starting to bare themselves out, only this year he's doing it in 32-33 mpg. He's settling into: (roughly) 19 ppg, 11 rpg, 3.1 apg, 1.9 bpg, 50-53%, 70-75%.
With Parker out, Pop needs to not overwork Duncan (or Ginobili). Jefferson should be able to handle significantly more minutes and will have to, with Hill playing the point exclusively and Mason likely playing the majority of his minutes at the point as well. With Finley not yet back and Hairston with the Toros, the Spurs are down to five perimeter players. This means small ball is likely out the window for the time being.
Not to go all Hollinger on you, but it's called regression to the mean. Duncan has never shot 55% in any season in his 12 year career, so the likelihood of him continuing to shoot over 55% from the field was highly unlikely. Granted, he's facing a lot less double teams these days, but nonetheless, his career percentage is .509%. His best years were: .549% in 07-08 and .546% in 06-07. Aside from those two seasons, his next best is .513% in 02-03.
can anyone make me a GIF of timmy smiling at the end and doing that claw thing with his hands ?
Sisk asked in the other thread too. I hope someone will. The wave is to his kids.

If my notes are correct, tonight was Duncan's 20th 20-20 game in the regular season. He has 10 in the Playoffs.
I didn't watch the game, but I'm glad the Spurs won on Duncan's career night.
Haven't come forum for a long time, I'm so happy about this...I also noticed that Duncan did not even mention it in the post-game interview.
Duncan had his first 20-20 game since 2005, and the 20th of his career. :flag:
duncan wanted to remind blair that he's not the only one on the team that can get a 20-20 game.
Amazing TD! :king
You know when Timmy shaves his head, he is coming to play.
Don't you know- Timmy's a Raptor fan, too. :)

I think all this crap about him "being done" or him "not lasting much longer" is bull. The guy is in great shape. Knows how to play WITHOUT atheleticism, and still has a lot left in him. I am beginning to realize that the media just wants this superstar to die off because they are bored with him. They have to write about how great his game is but have no drama or juicy stuff to write about. He doesn't play with guns, he doesn't take pics of himself naked, and he doesn't cheat on his wife. They are left with nothing to report but how he continues to dominate every year. So while Duncan may not have 10 years left, I think he will kick ass every year until he retires. I don't see a significant drop in production on the rise, as much as the media is hoping for it.
he has been incredible this year ! We really need this team to step up. If they do so, TD healthy will be a monster during the POs and the spurs will be an unstoppable train.
It's a day ro remembah! yeah!
