There we go. Samanic playing harder. He's working hard for rebounds.
The way this Austin team keeps letting the other team go up by 10 in seconds reminds me of the main team.
RENFRO WITH POELTL-LIKE DEFENSE
SAMANIC WITH THE NICE POST MOVE
Samanic forgetting to box out again
Samanic shamelessly grabbing a rebound at the buzzer to pad his stats
Nate Renfro is a beast on defense and his offense is not too bad either.
RENFRO WITH TWO STRAIGHT BEAUTIFUL DRIVES
RENFRO IS THE ATHLETIC FORWARD WE NEED
Somebody get me a Renfro Fiesta jersey...What a block!
The spurs need to sign Renfro right now. Other Nba teams are going to take him away.
He fouled that guy there but Renfro's lateral speed...man, he's a beast. He can keep up with guards easily.
Poor shot selection by Luka

A game to forget for Samanic...
Renfro has some crazy athleticism
We all see Renfro...you know Pop is seeing Mathis :lol
That guy Mathis can shoot.
Damn, Blake Griffin can't be stopped
Who is this Renfro of whom you speak?
Luka is having a rough night.
Tre looking like T.J Ford...Just a blur at times
Finally a 3 goes in for Samanic
TRE IS FUCKING TAKING OVER
Tre with a windmill. Wowsers! That was wild.
Tough game for Luka, But came big at the end with the big 3s. i think ut was still a solid game, there still alot to develop and grow. Which is the scary part.
We can all agree that Nate Renfro was highlight! I can see him Being a Danny green type of player.
He's like the blocking machine version of Vassell. Vassell is the steal machine. Put both of them together and ...

I haven't been able to see many of these, but this was on NBATV.
Luka and Jones both have nice baskets of skills, will need more work.
Samanic ran against a guy in Brazdeikis who is stronger and able to disrupt him. Samanic is predictable on offense. He even seems to decide each play what he's going to do -- like go left -- and he'll do it no matter what. He has great form on his shot and can get it off whenever he wants, but there's something wrong with why it doesn't drop more often. An issue may be that he does the same with his drives -- decide beforehand that he's going to shoot -- and launches it without being in the rhythm of the offense. He did hit two important ones after scraping the front rim right before. He's not going to get so many tries on the big team. He's too easily dispossessed when dribbling or down low.
Defense, he went for about three steals that got him out of position, which isn't good, and he doesn't seem to be a rim protecting threat, but he does alright with rebounds. He's really fluid as a horizontal athlete, though. His post-up game reminds me of Rik Smits, actually, although clearly they are very different otherwise. Below the rim game dependant on footwork and length.
Jones has a ton of great aspects. He sees the floor very, very well for his age, great PG skills, and he's a good enough ballhandler to get anywhere he wants at this level -- although he does naturally carry the ball in his dribble motion, which he may get called on. So rare to find a pure point guard like him at that pick. Deceptively athletic, a nice defender, can control and handle a team's offense to get guys their shots. Seems adept at what Steve Nash did a lot, dribble the baseline through the lane to pull bigger defenders. He is a treat to pick up steals, but doesn't get out of position like Samanic does.
He needs a shot, clearly. Once he can knock down jumpers, and I expect he should on this franchise, he's a really nice guy to bring off the bench. Like his brother, a spot starter and someone you have no problem sticking in there full time if you have to. This game depended on a handful of players, but it was Jones that sealed the deal. A great competitor.
Regarding Luka:
You'd rather rein someone in than try to motivate them to do something. I like Luka's laser focus on having something in his mind and executing it rather than the opposite-- indecisiveness. IMO, it's the decisions (read and react) he makes that he needs to improve, and I think that will come in time.
IMO, Luka has that Murray trajectory, not just mentally but as far as skills. Murray didn't look like a point guard for a long time, he was a tragic turnover machine, and had no vision. Then all of a sudden, everything clicked. In the same way, Luka doesn't look like he can put it all together as a stretch big, right now looks like a tragic soft baby, and doesn't know to pass out of really bad situations. It's like static electricity with these two and you're trying to harness that into a bolt of lightning.
Then the Spurs will say, "Boom mothafucka!"
Bruh
He's also a scholar.

He's perfect.
Tre looks like a real steal for a second round pick.
Man our guard situation makes my head spin....:spin DJ, White, Mills, Lonnie, Devin, Q, Tre....where do you find minutes for all of them?
Well, it's a guard league right now. You can play 3 guards at a time, with Vessell and Johnson being more wings, Murray, White being more PGs, and Jones being a pure PG.
Poor Q
I really like Nate he is 6'8 super athletic and as I have said several times he is 100% Spurs material - Smart - High Ball IQ - Great Character - Very Motivated - Hard Worker. His interviews give off a David and Timmy vibe I can see Pop getting attached to this kid real quick he will be a joy to coach.
I am glad he has been able to shine it sucks for a lot of these players on Spurs team that were not drafted because all the minutes and focus is on Luka, Tre, Cam, and Woodard . As fat as Nate I think he can play SF or PF it just depends on what want from him but the dude is super athletic and is definitely geared for the run and gun of the future.
Dejuante can you post - Nate Renfro Scouting Report from 2019?
Man i'm loving Tre, this kid is going to have a really solid career in the NBA I think.
Could Renfro's ceiling be the next evolution of Bowen? He's way more athletic than Bruce, has a better offensive game than Bruce, too. He does all the little things! Good screens, hand offs, rolls well, finishes, 3pt shot which is good but can improve. Runs the break, doesn't hesitate in his defensive responsibilities, weak side help, steals, blocking, and looks like he enjoys busting his ass to shut the other team down!
He doesn't have to have the ball in his hands to effect the outcome of a game! His effort is through the roof, but it isn't sporadic or out of control. There are two videos of almost two minute highlights of Renfro and all the plays he made in a two game span, and he only scored 4 points in the two games! If I'm Q or KBD, I'm worried I'm going to get a call and be released when the G League Bubble is over! That Atlanta 4th quarter doesn't happen with players like Jones and Renfro on the floor!
Hmmmm
To get our roster count to 8 because of that COVID thing or something more??
Clearly they're going to assign Vassell.
How’s the OSU kid doing? Kelly? He was a block machine in college right?
And Luka and Tre have been playing so well and getting the playing time, granted it’s G-League. But I would have wanted them to play the remaining games and continue with their development, not unless they get significsnt burn with the big team, which I doubt it.
I was so disappointed with Kelly. I was rooting for him, but he lacks the motor, the aggression. Plays barely go through him, and he never rolls hard after the pick. He doesn’t really call his number on offense. I thought he has some moves but rarely puts them on display. He’s not really the swat machine I thought, unlike Renfro who’s always looking to swat the ball. Very underwhelming imo.
They might get some time depending when the Spurs starts playing. We have 16 players including the 2-way players. With 4 out we are left with 12, if LMA is still out due injuries and DDR is away to be with his family, without Tre and Luka we are down to exactly 8 players.
I'm assuming it more likely that we just need Luka and Tre since we've got players out.
