I hope Pop plays Moore soon, he needs to play with the big club and would be a perfect fit. He has all the tools to make it

Ben looks ok. A lot of easy buckets. Spurs need a 3 and D guy.
Spurs playing tonight.
https://gleague.nba.com/games/20181206/NASAUS/
Walker is already better than probably 90% of the team (his ceiling is easily the largest on the team), talent wise (2k) he probably should already be a starter in SA, his natural talent for playing is visible.
Moore remembers Jabari Parker (with defensive effort obviously), I would be all to give the slot of Cun and Pon to Moore and Washburn, would be an addition of defense and athletics extremely necessary for this team
I would love to see the likes of Brimah playing with somebody like Poeltl.
Yeah, there really is no reason to keep Walker in the G League. It's just more of Pop's "know your place" BS. Tired of young talent like Walker not getting some consistent minutes in the NBA to grow. Any kind of hope of a title at this point is non-existent so time to develop our future talent. Or maybe they'll just piss him off and he'll bail at the first chance. Good times.
To be honest Walker, Eubanks, Moore, Washburn, and I would add Nick Johnson should get a shot on the team next year. I would agree that some of them should be on the team now. But we have so many wholes on this team and hardly any athletic talent we desperately need to get in the lottery!!!!!!!!
With hitting the lottery we get a legit SF starter and probably Raptors pick and our second round pick get us another possible NBA starter or better bench players.
Foget the loyalty BS next year I want players who really deserve to be on the team that means open competition at every position. And that means Pop and RC have to have a Jesus meeting and agree to get rid of dead weight and work all trade angles for better talent or picks.
At a minimum Gasol, Forbes, Cunningham, Poindexter should be traded or let go. And would love to move Mills and Belli if possible.
No More Old Short Non Athletic Players For The Love Of God
You are fooled by the poor quality of g-league play. None of those guys are NBA players. If they were, they'd be on someone's roster already.
This is no bullshit: Patty Mills would score 30 ppg in the g-league. That's the level of competition.
Walker will be up, likely in a week or two, when he's in "game shape".
Metu assigned to Austin for tonight's game.

Metu's handle in space and his aggression attacking the rim in the 3rd has been better than I expected. Moore looks disinterested at time and then at other times he's impressive. If he can get and keep his motor up he could be an interesting prospect. Lonnie needs to add some strength but goodness he's got alot of talent.

Métiu needs to do a better job on boxing out and getting rebounds.
Walker needs to work on the same and also his 3 ball and his free throws (He is not ready Yet)
G League trade!!!
Sweet! A 6'1" and 6' point guards. Nobody plays small like pop.
Another terrible trade by the Spurs.
Austin Spurs at Capital City Gogos (Wow! whata name!) this afternoon at 1430 hrs, CST. Will be televised on NBA TV. A freebie chance to catch LW4, Ben Moore and the rest of the team on national TV! It should keep us entertained until the Big Boys hit the court at 1800, CST at Orlando Magic. GSG!!!
Not every Toros trade is made with the Spurs in mind. The d-league is much more forgiving to small PGs, especially because that tends to be where the talent is in that league. Most of the front-court players with a similar skill level are already with the big clubs. The Toros started off the year with no quality (even for the level of competition) guards, and it's hard to develop guys like Metu, Eubanks and even Walker without at least a decent vet supporting cast. I am not all that sad about losing out on Thompson and Livio given how long the team has had to develop those guys and how they still have Metu, Moore and Washburn (and presumably a forward or two coming over next year).
Yeah, basically competent point guards are crucial to the success of any D-League team and the development of any other players there. Even a guy like Ledbetter who will never get close to playing in the NBA is a boon to the Toros.
Brent Barry and Danny Ainge are at the game.
this team clearly needs better guards. Lonnie Walker doesn't get enough touches, he's especially effective having the ball in his hands and getting to the rim where he can finish through contact. Metu puts up Aldridge like stats but is too turnover prone. Ben Moore has a huge wing span and a stronger frame than Metu. He's very good running the floor in transition. That's the only thing I could take away watching him tonight. But Walker definitely looks like he can play in the NBA and should get minutes
No he is not ready he is very athletic but he still needs to work on fundamentals like free throws, rebounding, defense. Still high on him just not for this season.

Jeff Ledbetter had better stats then Walker.
Yeah, I'm not worried about Lonnie's scoring. I really do want to see him with more than one assist, rebound and block. He's not going to help the team as a mediocre midrange glass cannon. I get that he might not handle the ball enough to collect a lot of dimes, but he should be boarding well at least. Again, there's no rush with him still healing, but Austin should be his home for a while yet.
Yep he is freaky athletic but Pop is right to keep him in G League even more so after surgery. I am glad Metu had a complete game meaning scoring and rebounding and team high 6 assist was impressed he is very athletic.
Also Ben Moore with a double 14 rebounds and 13 pts he has potential just needs to work on things but I like him. Brimah also had a double to 10 and 10 with 4 blocks which is pretty cool he did it in only 18 minutes of play time. He is still a project but he is getting better and has put on some much needed muscle.
On a side not you can tell Pop hates the 3 ball game cause no one can shoot it on this team.
Metu is LaMarcus Aldridge in the G-League. Him scoring 20 consistently is a very good sign, giving that it's his first G-League season. Walker plays to assertive for Austin, I think he can take over a game, but just doesn't do it. He's lookin to play more within the team from what I have seen. With as many blow out wins as we had recently I wouldn't mind if Pop calls him up and gives him some garbage time minutes.
Imo the most important thing for lonnie is To be healty, regain a good condition and also to have good % in g league. I like the fact that is shooting % are good. I agree with chinook he should make more assists , steal... but he is not the team playmaker, he plays more off the ball.
Also happy that metu had a good Game, i was a little bit concerned With some of his g league games.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcGzyZzU8-Q
Very nice footwork!
I thought Metu would play more the SF than the C in the D-league. Being a PF he needs to play the post, screen and roll/pop but also play comfortably behind the 3pt line, penetrating and finishing/kicking out, finding outlet passes and shooting. However, my biggest concern about him is the defense. He looked terribly lost and raw in the defensive end on his time with the NBA team. He can't step on an NBA hardwood until he can play decent defense.
Young players need confidence from his coaches and minutes in order to feel comfortable into an NBA offense but the knowledge of the defensive system, the focus and the intensity must come from the player's side.
yeah my comparison was more related to production. He shoots a lot of midranges, has post moves and goes for 20/10. That's kinda like LaMarcus in the NBA. Of course Metu is more athletic, but the fact that he can put up those numbers on the regular shows that he has a nice developed offensive game. He's not far from getting NBA minutes, just not quite ready yet. Maybe next year.
I understand what u mean, D Rob was one of the first few centre who played face up / mid range shooter. However, he does not have as many weapon then like fade away and step back. But I just cannot phantom LaMarcus doing all those high flying dunks and alley-oops. Those are just my opinions not trying to get into a debate. :bobo
Raw and athletic
That’s what she said :toast
Jesus metu just toying with guys
Lol Lonnie's gonna injure himself again with that landing on that follow up
LWIV percentages have a long way to go before he gets into the big leagues.
Metu's number look so much better.
Don't think it's an elevation issue. Think he mistimed those jumps. Also looks like he legit hurt himself trying to pick up Holland. Was way more springy before that.
Why does the hoop look too high :lol or is it the angle of the cam?
Nick Johnson almost had a triple double. 24 pts 9 rebounds and 8 assist pretty good for a PG.
He was just way bigger than anyone on OKC's team so he did what he should've done.
I really wish Eubanks was either a bit taller or had more PF game to him. He's a really intriguing post-player and roll-man, but the dude doesn't seem able to do much of anything away from the basket. I wouldn't hate it if he were the third-string center next year, but I'd rather him provide more versatility if I'm going with him over Milutinov or a draft pick. I do expect to see him put in good work during the next summer league though.
Spurs vs Warriors tonight @ 7:30.
That audio sound pretty badass. Sounds like one of them old classic games.
Man second straight pretty bad play from LWalker 6-16 Loss
Metu has a nice face up/drive game. Ahearn moved Johnson to the bench and let Lonnie run a little point to get him involved early. His isos just aren't effective; looks like he's going to work best off screens and in transition. Huestis had some good defensive plays of last resort on Warrior drives/transition. Washburn had fundamentally strong one-on-one defense. Turnovers still the main reason for the loss.

Walker looking like he might need 2 years in g league. Not exactly filling up the stats sheet.
John Holland is the only guy with appreciable court vision on the team. Should try to find a way to start him. Lineup changes look like they got into Johnson's head. Walker still works best off picks and he doesn't get good ones from the rest of the SL. Metu is a TO machine.
Walker heated up early in the fourth but was inexplicably pulled for a couple minutes. Are they still monitoring his minutes?
I think Walker is going to need another year in G League unless he makes a huge jump this summer I see him as two years in G League minimum
Maybe, but I kind of doubt it. He has really good shooting streaks. I kind of understand going away from him late in this game since Metu was constantly getting mismatches down low and went to the line 11 times. I think the players and coaches on the mothership could probably get him the space he needs to shoot better than those in the G-League.
Injury messed up his timing. He'd be closer to where Metu is right now if he hadn't had to sit out a couple of months and then use what activity he could do rehabbing. Dude was really raw coming out of school. It was never going to be quick with him, but there's still a lot of time until the summer. So long as Walker stays healthy, I expect him to look good, though I hope the team has a solid guard out there with him.
I don’t do FaceBook so I haven’t been able to watch any games. I’m going by boxscores and people’s comments which admittedly isn’t the best read. Comments about his lack of D, lack of assists rebounds, steals, low 3 point percentage give me pause. I can’t see him get much PT from Pop if he doesn’t clean that up.
Weekday games are on ESPN+ if you have that and just a fake account would do for FB.
I don't think they're putting a premium on developing him as much as rehabbing him at this point so I'm not overly concerned. Then again I never had him penciled in for regular minutes this year unless there were multiple injuries.
