Is it disrespectful for schools to fly the American flag on those days and Cinco de Mayo?
No, no and no.
It's stupid to start a duplicate thread, whore.
Wearing an American flag repurposed as clothing is disrespectful at all times.Quote:

Has someone suggested this, besides you?Quote:

"No. Stop asking."
"Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?"
"I said stop asking or you're grounded."

"Fine, you're grounded"
"WHAT?? I was just asking Are we there yet? Why can't I ask Are we there yet? What's wrong with asking Are we there yet??"
I don't find American flag themed clothing offensive, just a bit tacky.
I can't figure out why anyone thought it WOULD be disrespectful, regardless of what day of the year it is.
I notice that a lot of people in S.A. have mini Mexican flags hanging from their rearview car mirrors. I don't think these are offensive in the least.
Who said it would be disrespectful?
The school principal.
No
You should wear an Ernesto Guevara Lynch t-shirt on St. Patricks day. That'll keep 'em guessing ....
What if a kid wore this on 4th of July?

Hope he doesn't get beat up, but go for it.
Most kids would probably think it was the Confederate flag.
Nothing would happen.
OK, has anyone on this board declared the wearing of any of these shirts disrespectful?
I do somewhat find the Union Jack disrespectul due to the years of suffering the post 'Exile On Mainstreet' Rolling Stones music we have been forced to endure for the better part of four decades.
Anyone seen this:

They also fly the Union Jack.
to answer the OP: no, it would not.
edit: IMO, it would not. "disrespect" is in the eye of the beholder.
I'm reminded of that scene from The People Vs. Larry Flynt, when Woody shows up to court wearing an american flag diaper.
"Well your honor I have fashioned this flag into a diaper. If you're gonna treat me like a baby I figure might as well act like one."
