Small role players like Ferry, Kerr, and (at least in theory) Bonner will only affect a small handful of playoff games. If those happen to be at crucial moments, then yes, they can potentially swing playoff series one way or another. Yes, I agree, Matt Bonner needs to shoot better in the playoffs. Yes, there are better options to put on the court if you want defense and rebounding, especially when going against the opposing team's first stringers. But Bonner has a role that he fills, and for better or for worse, the Spurs have hired him to fill that role for four more seasons. No matter where your opinion on Bonner falls on the spectrum, I think we can all hope that the rotation ahead of him stays healthy enough and solid enough that he's not called upon or relied upon to fill a role beyond his means.
Definately Bonner > those scrubs. He is the best shooter of them and how can you pretend that doesn't matter when that's the reason we signed him?
