Drive For Five BlogTalk Radio Show, Wednesday August 4th, 11PM ET/10PM CT

I decided to put together a radio show for this coming week so we can all discuss the offseason that the Spurs had as well as what we can look forward to in the 2010/11 season. I don't think it'll be weekly or anything, but hopefully it'll be fun nonetheless.

On Wednesday, August 4th, the show "Drive For Five" (hopefully timvp doesn't mind) will be live at 11 PM Eastern/10 PM Central time right here:

haha, well there was already another thread on this, but it was under the thread title "Kori Ellis Show" so I'm assuming most of the posts were in there from before. Hopefully it's a decent turn out, and I don't have to ramble by myself for 20 minutes.

Ahhh gotcha. I initially wasn't too crazy about the 11 PM Eastern start time, but everything between 5-9 PM was taken. I figure a lot of you seem to post on these forums well into the night anyways that maybe the timing isn't too bad.

I'd be down to do it again. I thought the callers were awesome (mouse included). I don't know if I need to pick a better time in the future to get more callers. I will try to get the archived episode posted ASAP.

I would have called in, but it totally slipped my mind that this was going on right now. I was posting in the Club and I only caught the last 10 minutes.

Wow I was impressed! You guys do know your Spurs. I know Chris Duel will hate me for saying this but you guys managed to talk more Spurs in 45 minutes than the ESPN zone did all week long.

I can tell you guys need 3 or maybe 5 shows back to back and you will sound like the pros.

I hope you made a demo tape many radio stations look for fresh talent.

Mix in some cool music and trash talk to the Mavs and Lakers and you will be on my short list of sports shows to tune into.

No worries, I'm debating whether to do another one of these but I am sure I will. I will have the entire episode up anywhere between 15-30 minutes. That's how long before they send me a link for the listeners to hear an archived episode.

32? not bad at all. I think wednesday night would be a good time to have it if you were to consistently have it weekly or every other week or something. maybe move it to 9 instead of 10.

I out of the house until at least 10 every Wed...but I can do any other night during the week.

Mouse was beyond hilarious when he called. I didn't hear the "Free At Last" bit but then again there some minor moments with the caller dropping in and out. And thanks for the kind words buddy :)

DesignatedT, I also prefer a 9 pm CT time, but when booking shows all the days either give me 5:30 pm CT (too early, imo) or then 10 PM CT. I'll see what I can do.

Yeah it was rough in the beginning. Around the 14 min mark we finally got a caller. Also gave you a birthday shout out towards the end :toast

seems like kori/timvp has a competitor on the airwaves... :D

I think Gee can play. Biggest question mark was his defense and he showed dedication and improvement in that area during the summer league. I just don't know if he is ready to be a primary NBA backup but I sure hope he gets a chance.

Nice job, Amused. Impressive. If you change up your times, I'll call in from Iraq, but then you'd have to do your show at around 4pm Central, which is no good. Keep it up, people are clamoring for more!

I caught the last 20 or so minutes last night. Was just about to tune out when the conversation turned to Miami Heat talk, but it went back to Spurs pretty quickly.

Haha, yeah I re-listened to all of it and there were a couple less than stellar moments but sometimes the caller would drop in and out slightly so it was hard to tell if I had lost him completely or if he was simply done talking!

But I'm sure the next one will be much much smoother. I won't even mind doing the show on Sundays if that's easier than Wednesday's at 10. I'll also be sure to pet the Central time for the show first instead of eastern.

It's also good to know how many people want to keep it focused just on the Spurs. Maybe I was about to run out of topics and had to change it up to the Heat or something at the time :lol

not your fault.. not much happening currently in the spurs world tbh.. even the local sports stations barely talk about the spurs..

id be less likely to listen live on sundays but move it or keep it to whenever it's suitable for most..

i liked the variety of talk from heat to spurs etc...

At some point last season this forum really started to turn around and a lot of posters started to shine. This is simply a continuation of that. I gotta admit, at one point I thought we were never going to have ST shine again but some of you are really bringing it.
