Props to Jason Garrett tbh he's not getting much credit right now.

Re: All Inclusive Cowboys Thread
Great win :tu
Extremely poor showing for Dez.. Not only do I believe he has disrupted the offense since his return, when he was targeted he failed to make the play. His little angry tantrums on the sideline are getting stupid at this point as well..
At the same time, props to Dak's leadership skills for grabbing Dez by his collar mid tantrum and putting him back in his place about his role

1 DE (Gregory?) and 1 MLB (Jaylon Smith or Rolando McClain?) from owning the NFL.

The Cowboys will be a "trap game" that is an obvious inferior opponet sandwiched in between two serious opponets. Now can that superior team get up for the pansies? According to the "wise guys" this will be close with the Cowboys just pulling it off at the end. So the ATS play is the Browns + 7.
They are also all over Denver beating the Raiders in a pick um.
Jesus..

The Cowboys have beat.
Browns
Niners
Bears
Bengals
Packers
Eagles
Skins
Pitt also beat Skins, Bengals, and Chiefs, forget the Jets.
The Cowboys on the road again vs a Steelers team at home coming off a loss, I'll take that double digets..10 points. 30 days self bannishment on this forum, we have a bet? If it hits right on 10 points, a tie....so nothing happens.
Would you believe, Steelers are favored by 2.5...?

Deal. The 30 days starts that Sunday the 13th being day 1: so the 12th of December would be the last day meaning December 13th would be the day of the return.

Re: All Inclusive Cowboys Thread
Quote:
Tony Romo is taking steps to return to the field for the Dallas Cowboys, and this week will be one more towards his goal.
On Sunday, owner Jerry Jones said he would not speculate on the status of his veteran quarterback for Week 10, instead looking forward to seeing what he can do in practice this week. EVP Stephen Jones echoed the statement on Monday.
On Wednesday, head coach Jason Garrett stated, via DallasCowboys.com, the four-time pro bowler will again run the 7-on-7 scout team this week, putting his active status for Sunday in grave doubt.
The bottom line is until Romo begins taking some first team reps, he'd be very unlikely to suit up for the first time since suffering the fractured vertebra on Aug. 25.
The question of if Romo will take over from rookie Dak Prescott once he's back will most likely have to wait another week, as he first needs to prove to the club he is healthy enough to be activated in the first place.
Romo has reportedly stated he is capable of taking 'NFL hits'.
We'll all find out soon enough.
Garrett noted the veteran has had no setbacks or pain from his recent practice and throwing sessions. He says Romo is in positive spirits as they go through the rehab process.
"Positive," Garrett said of the franchise QB's feedback. "He's [Romo has] been throwing the ball well. He had two good days of practice last week. He's champing at the bit, but we'll watch him today at practice and see how he does."

Leary cleared for practice but questionable because of concussion protocol. Tyron Smith should be ready to go. Chaz Green will be out. Church had successful surgery. Clairborne still might have a possible sports hernia which can develop from the groin injury.

The lack of pass rush is an issue, though. You still need a reliable defense if you want to ring at the end.

That response shows I am right. This is just 1 regular season win. Your pass rush is lacking right now. That HAS to improve. The arrogant mindset you are displaying will only result in shock/pain if it fails. Your team won't win a Super Bowl unless this area improves. It's a valid concern. You can go 15-1, but if that lack of a pass rush is a problem, you won't ring in February.
-

It is, but they got pressure at key times and they were down Mayowa, who was inactive. You should be more critical of a game plan that didn't run the ball enough to control the lock more tbh. Fan mindset determining games :lmao

What? Mayowa is the 2nd-worst DE on the 53-man roster after Jack Crawford, who still is getting WAY WAY WAAAAAAYYYYYY too much playing time.....
Lawrence needs to be in the game 90% of defensive snaps, he's too good to waste, he had 4 negative plays yesterday including a sack and that monster 10 yard tackle for loss on Antonio Brown which was functionally another sack... Lawrence is too good to only play half the snaps, I understand he was injured but he's better now and he's the best we've got, could be the best DE in the NFC East if given the opportunity...

Meh... Hanna is better and more experienced than Swaim at this point and he's eligible to return, easy replacement there. Scandrick needs to pass protocol for this week though. And it's time to take the bubble wrap off Demarcus Lawrence... big time.

Lawrence and Hardy together were actually a pretty damn good tandem last year. We lost because our offense couldn't score with no good quarterback and an average running back. Unfortunately, Jason Garrett is a clapping carrot who can't tolerate anyone who isn't a choir boy, our loss.

losing depth is never a good thing, especially with steelers passing so much.

I'd rather have a coke head and a a weed head over two guys who get stonewalled at the line of scrimmage... from the flipping DE position, not even the DT.

With teams like the Steelers that pass pass pass, why not play the best pass rusher in the NFC East >90% of the snaps? He's not injured anymore and this "rotation" crap is garbage when the backups behind Lawrence and T. Crawford are mostly garbage (I think Ryan Davis is OK, not amazing, and they like David Irving as a 3-technique).
Jack Crawford and Mayowa suck... it's the truth.

I mean, they gave Hardy a chance... but he was being a negative influence on guys. He was missing meetings or showing up late, staying out all night at bars, etc.. on top of the photos being released of what he did to his girlfriend. All of those affected his chances of being re-signed or signed by a team. It's telling that he wasn't picked up by any other team. And his recent arrest proves the Cowboys and the rest of the league were right in their decision/assessment.
On Gregory, I had no issues with him after the first two suspensions... but when you go to rehab, come back from rehab, and then fail another drug test while still suspended then it's time to cut ties. He obviously doesn't get it, and maybe he will never get it.
-
Re: All Inclusive Cowboys Thread
If the last rumor is true and Gregory is indeed out for all of next year, it's time to cut him. Shame you waste your 2nd round pick like that, but it was a gamble, and it could be worse, we could have traded the farm to draft Jared Goff.

Mayowa isn't elite, but I'd give him a roster spot over Jack Crawford... we don't need more DT depth as we're loaded there (also he's not strong enough) and he's too slow to play DE.
At least Mayowa is a quick twitch guy who can get quick pressure sometimes. Of course three out of four pass rushes he just takes himself out of the play, but he actually threatens the QB with his speed one out of four times. Like Randy Gregory, Mayowa is also a bit skinny and bad against the run. Jack Crawford gets stonewalled EVERY time. Mayowa is just a poor man's Randy Gregory. Lawrence and Tyrone Crawford are our best edge rushers. If they keep Irving inside, then Ryan Davis is the 3rd best and should be the first man off the bench. Jack Crawford just stinks.

Still think we see Romo in a few games this season, at the very least in fourth quarters when we're up three scores or better against bad teams, and maybe the last game or two of the season after we've clinched the conference #1 seed
