Winning at Double Dribble doesn't count...plus no one plays that game any more.

I play every week with my colleagues. Around 3-4 games per session, so I can safely say I'm in good shape

Sabatian, if yall don't mind I'm down to pay four bucks to run. Let me know the next time you play
Flux, is that 225 per member or per team. I want to join a league but wouldn't put up 200 bucks for it. I have college to pay for.
ok i know where your at, what days do you usually go out cause i could bring 2 of my buddies ones 6'1'' or 2 and the other is not near as tall like me, but theyre always down to ball yeah my friend thats tall is a perfect center hes wide big and is only good in the paint but rebounds great. i usually play point and love to play D & spread the ball since i havent played in a while itll take me a game to get going but im competitive to a fault so i like games to be played w/intensity i hate pot head games:hat

Re: Forum members who play basketball
Leonard, we usually play the halfcourt at the Reserve around 9 or 10. We could play earlier if yall wanna run. I'm alright, im not a scrub, but im better at football. I play with my cousin and a couple of his friends, they all played in a league together and HS ball. Got another friend from ClearLake who used to ball there who comes out too, when he's not making excuses to hang with his gf. you know how it is. none of us really suck, we usually play at least 4 or 5 games and Im not a pothead.
but anyway, im in the Valley until Aug 12th, then I'll be back in town. I'll message you next week and well set it up. Any of the other people here reading this are welcome to join. I also have a few friends that play at the JCC and I hear its cool, but i dont have a membership.
I would do a SPURSTALK game thing and would throw down to rent out a gym if the oldschool people wanna start it back up. im interested to see how many fights break out haha jk

Offense taken...but not too much. My team is all pot heads and we kill it. Its sometimes too intense...and its not just the high grade

Re: Forum members who play basketball
The spurstalk tournaments back in the day were a lot of fun. I only remember running organized 3 on 3 though. I live in round rock now but I'd make an effort to make it down for an organized Sunday game.
I play 2-3 times/week and try to shoot around at least 5 times per week. It's the only way I can stomach cardio without boring myself to death. If anyone hoops in the Austin area and is at least semi-competitive, I'm always looking for a good place to play.

Re: Forum members who play basketball
I don't play many games at all anymore. Sometimes, I'll play in the driveway and play this game where I shoot from about 40 feet. If I make it, I move in closer. If I make that, move in closer, then to the deep corners, etc. Kind of like Around the World but with more difficult shots. If I miss, I have to grab the rebound before it bounces twice. I then have to shoot from the spot where I got the rebound. If I make it, I go back to the spot where I first took the shot for that round. If I miss, I have to go back to the 40 foot spot and start over. Most of the time, I change the rules so I can use 2 bounces or I get two chances for a putback.

Same thing. I rent a gym on saturdays and its 5 dollars per person for 2 1/2 hours. We usually get no less than 15 people each time. Sometimes 20 or a little over.

Re: Forum members who play basketball

Ill be in charge of getting st together to play for real.
Post in this thread (im not gonna make a new thread unless this is really gonna happen) if you're down, we're gonna need at least 12-15

Whatever majority rules...and I hate to break it to you...most city gyms are not hardwood :-(. Hope you still decide to come.
I will say the count is up to 4 now

Count me in for next Saturday or any Sunday. I would hope to have at least a semi-competitive group. Keep me in the loop.

When and where do you tend to play? I'm up in North Austin myself and haven't been able to find many decent courts here, let alone pickup games. I haven't played in a couple months as a result.
I'll play on the Riata courts occasionally since I have a friend there, but technically am not supposed to. Aside from that, I used to have a nice halfcourt off Shoreline, but have since moved away from it and have been dead in the water since.

Re: Forum members who play basketball
At 31 and 5'9, I really am Rod Strickland (with no defense, but I'm REALLY trying) for 5 straight minutes, then I throw it behind my back out of bounds and then I take myself out and I'm done.

I've been playing almost exclusively at the brushy creek community center off of RR 620 and Great Oaks Dr. The majority if the mcniel HS varsity plays there frequently and they keep my 25 year old body in shape. I've played a few times at the lifetime fitness off 620 and there is usually decent competition but I refuse to pay the 70-80 buck/mo membership.
I've got my ear to ground for any competitive leagues in north Austin and would love to join one with a good reputation. I'm down to ball with anyone in Austin who has some skill and likes to compete.
