Angel, of Bedford, in central England, said it was "a bit extreme" for the FBI to act. "The police came and took my picture and told me I was banned from America forever. I don't really care but my parents aren't very happy."

A Bedford Police spokesman confirmed they had spoken to Angel about the email. Officers will take no criminal action.

Joanne Ferreira, of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, said there are about 60 reasons a person can be barred from visiting America.

She said, "We are prohibited from discussing specific cases."

The wager is a safe bet...but I remain extremely skeptical of Homeland Security's ability to assess a threat. Forget the FBI, it's HSA that ought to ring yer bell.

White House needs to be more tolerant.

this kid was not residing in the US, nor is he a citizen of the US, so his speech is not protected by our constitution. Furthermore, his only "punishment" was a "not welcome on US soil" stamp on the old UK passport.

WC, there is a chance that he said things in the email that were nationally sensitive. (Or at least, given Obama's propensity to hide stuff, he could've claimed the contents were nationally sensitive.) It's not like the kid is going to tell the media that he threatened the President.
