Lets pray we have the number 1 seed and Dal/LA are stuck at 2 and 3.
Meaning those two will run through each other in the 2nd round and the Spurs need only defeat one of them to get to the Finals.

Mavs vs Lakers in the playoffs would be a delicious series, on so many levels.
In fairness to the analysts, most Spurs fans on this board were predicting between 48-55 wins.
98% of the people here didn't see Richard Jefferson becoming a massive devastator of faces after the season he had last year, either. I hadn't given up on him being a decent cog, but there's no way I saw him winning games for us or scoring 20+ a game with any regularity.
This is deserving of its own thread. I always talk shit to every Mav fan I ever come across, and this is one of the first things I bring up.
It's not their fault they never have played the Lakers....but the Mavs players and fans have "playoff cockiness" and consider themselves "veterans" and "experienced".
They have absolutely no idea what is in store for them if they ever play the Lakers in a series. And their entire fanbase and team will be shell-shocked after the officiating and ebb-and-flow of just one or two games against them.
They honestly believe that beating the Lakers in the regular season is remotely comparable to winning a game against them in the playoffs.
I would love nothing more than for those teams to face each other while we play another team. It would be greatness.
In fact, Mavs-Lakers series might actually be good for the NBA as a whole.....sure the Mavs would probably lose but Cuban would stop at NOTHING to get the word out about how bull shit it is the way refs treat them every game.
He'd go Commando on the league to the media relentlessly.
The value of having home court over both is that it puts the pressure on both to not lose a home game if they play the Spurs in the playoffs.
With three teams of this quality, it's probably unlikely that any win out at home in a series, but it's also probably unlikely that any lose two at home in a series. So, should the one with the advantage slip up, what it allows for is, to only need to win one on the road to advance, as opposed to two.
