Knicks want just a draft pick for Randolph

I thought the Knicks were going to try to get Melo out of the deal?

Ofcourse, when you have a play with the potential that AR has, its hard to ignore. I think if it only took a 1st round, I would strongly consider it. He an extremely interesting prospect who could have potentially been the next Lamar Odom.

However, I don't think hes a realistic fit with our program. Hes pretty immature and unable to crack Nellie and Dantoni's rotation... I think that says quite a bit about him as a player. Whether he likes to talk back, complain about minutes, be lazy, not practice, whatever the case may be, its hard to imagine him ever cracking Pops rotation.

If he could be had for a pick and we could send him to the DLeague for a year, I'm all for it. But with the teaming humming along at 19-3 with perfect chemistry and balance, I think I'd pass given that his attitude is very questionable.

Not surprised to see Spur fan shun a player because he is supposedly a cancer or has low basketball IQ. It's as if the only smart, team orientated players in the league are already Spurs...

Anyway, Randolph is a mega-talent and would be a nice get for a team with a mid to late first round pick. If I was the Knicks, I wouldn't take anything likely to be below top 15 in the draft.

He's in year three. No d-league send-downs available after year two.

The other issue I have with Randolph is that hes never shown range from three in his NBA career. Hes 1-11 career from three. Doesn't fill the typical mold we're looking for.

Still, a LOT of talent. But low BBIQ, low maturity and lack of three range. Thats three considerable strikes against him. The Spurs would probably be able to work him into a solid contributor, but he'd never be ideal for them.

I'd say his current situation is more of an indictment than his gig in GS under Nellie. Nellie is a tough old bird who really does hate rookies. He ran Chris Webber out of town his first time in GS. D'Antoni, on the other hand, seems like more of a player's coach. If you have a jump shot, you should be able to play for him.

I'd say the three ball is a minor issue. Dice doesn't have one, and he plays rotation minutes for us. DeJuan, either.

Logic flaw. Just because a group of us understands the front office after watching it closely for like 15 years and don't see certain players as a "fit" doesn't mean we think there are no players out there who would be. They just don't generally have the second team in 6 months ready to dump them for table scraps. That's a red flag.

D'Antoni hates rookies too - ie Jordan Hill. He ran his rotation at 8 and Van Gundy went on the air saying that people who were saying play this rookie and that rookie should shut up. He's a veteran NBA coach who needs to win and the best way to do that is to play the veterans. Rookies should sit on the bench and cheer for their teammates.

Also a reason I cannot stand Van Gundy.
