Re: ESPN: Top 5 NBA Clutch Players
Wow...no lebron on either list? I'm shocked!
Re: ESPN: Top 5 NBA Clutch Players
I don't think this is Manu's prime. He was a better player 4-5 years ago, it's just that Tim Duncan, at that point, was the best player in the league and Manu didn't having the scoring opportunities he does now.
Re: ESPN: Top 5 NBA Clutch Players
And to not have Manu in your top-5 clutch players is ludicrous. He has hit more important, clutch playoff shots than Dirk and Melo combined, and he's putting in the work this year as well. I'd have him at 3 behind Bryant and Wade.

Yeah, me too (ahead of Wade actually) but we are Spurs fans so who gives a shit what we think?

The reason I said "back in his prime" is age and athleticism - most player's athletic prime is their late 20s, and he is 33. It's rare for SGs not to decline by his age.
No, he's effectively still in his prime, despite his advancing age and diminishing athleticism.
Efficiency and productivity should dictate a player's prime, not their birth certificate.

Jalen Rose is a turd
Boston celtics have been a fluke team since there super team was assembled. Yes they made it to the finals. BIG DEAL. The east has been\is total crap.

ESPN tries sooooooo hard to sell brand-name commodity players -- it's like watching out-dated instructional videos in a marketing class.
Jalen Rose has always been a big fan of Ginobili. I got the chance to talk to him over the summer and the first name that came out of his name was Ginobili.

Fail...
Boston is no fluke. I guess their 22pt comeback against SA a few years back on the Texas Triangle trip (in which they beat all of the Texas teams) was a fluke? Championships are never flukes. The concept of it is ludicrous and screams out "I know jack shit about basketball".

This is kind of like asking whether Jordan was still in his "prime" during the second threepeat. Athletically, he was nowhere near as gifted as in the early 90's. He may have been a better player though, developing that fadeaway and post-up game.
Re: ESPN: Top 5 NBA Clutch Players
Wonder if this list would change now?
Jalen Rose a moron for knocking Ginobili the way he did.
Re: ESPN: Top 5 NBA Clutch Players
No question about it anymore. Manu #1

Re: ESPN: Top 5 NBA Clutch Players
LOL that Dirk and Carmelo are on the lists. Those guys haven't even sniffed at an NBA title, how can you call them clutch....oh,wait, Dirk sniffed and then became the most ANTI-CLUTCH player ever. wtf

+1
I don't know about diminishing athleticism? Manu has never been a freak athlete like a Lebron or a Vince Carter, so it's hard to tell if his athleticism has gone down. To me, he still moves the same as he did 4 or 5 years ago, but he has now become a better shooter and passer.
Re: ESPN: Top 5 NBA Clutch Players
5.ray allen
4. wade
3. pierce
2.kobe
1.manu
no doubt about it
