Something like the New York Empires would be better. But its not so bad. I don't like the graffetti look to the word Brooklyn in the logo. Brooklyn is also not a city so it should not be in the team name. I like the bridge and world basketball logo.

I think they should just go with New York Nets, and hire a graphic designer with talent and a decent eye.

How about just Brooklyn? They've obviously run out of ideas in the USA for renaming teams, so how about from now on they just use the city/state names and that's it...

David Stern will never allow a logo that is based on tagging. It violates his "DO NOT SCARE THE WHITE PEOPLE" rule. (The same rule is why you get country and rock pumped over the speakers at games but no hip hop, and why there is a dress code.)

Actually Brooklyln has become the hippest borpugh in nyc. Many artists, musicians, writers , and fashionistas have relocated there from the more expensive Manhattan. That is why a team is justified there. While you guys are joking about the name, a lot of those stereotypes you conjure up are now moot with the influx of Manhattan refugees. On the other hand , the proposed name of the New yorkers still sucks.
