You actually think the Suns figured out how to play defense in one quarter?
Wow.
The Spurs in the second quarter forced Amare out, and forced Nash to turn the ball over.Quote:
Spoken like people who didn't understand what the Spurs were doing. The Spurs were defending Amare 1-1 and keeping defenders on the three point shooters. Amare was awesome on offense but could only do 2 points at a time. Did you think the Suns weren't going to get a run at some point?
They should rinse and repeat that second quarter over and over and over.
No reason why the Spurs cant blow this team out, and no reason they cant play that 2nd quarter D for 48 minutes.
NO REASON AT ALL!!!!!
yeah tpark I wish the spurs played the d like they did in quarter number 2 but that is almost impossible to do
suns were due to get hot at one point tonight
they still shot bad for them
Good idea, bitch.Quote:

suns could shot 20% and still score over 40 points in 48 minutes

Did you watch the 4th quarter?? They shut down Ginobili and Parker's lanes to the basket, and forced jumpshots the whole damn time.
Unless D Antoni is a totall bubbling retard, then hell do the same defensive scheme for game 4.
But, hey, were OK, we won the game, they will just roll over the next game.
pop can watch the 4 and see what happend
spurs lost forcus some
it was not the suns d that caused the huge 22 point drought in the 4
Timmy was real good, so I'm not picking on him. Just telling you why Phoenix kept it close at the end.Quote:

trap Nash, and push amare OUT, then yeah, YOU CAN do that for 48 mins.
But when you let Nash run free, and let Stoudamire get too easy of position, and keep jacking up jump shots with 2 seconds on the shot clock, then your gonna look like you do in the 4th but hey, thats OK to look like that in the 4th.
it is when you have the game in hand
Right right.Quote:

The Suns had nothing to do with Ginobili and Parker to shoot open jumpshots that whole 4th quarter.
Right right.
did you actually think the game was going to be lost by the spurs?
Yeah, try that for 48 minutes, and by trapping Nash, Amare will not be pushed out, and if he is, you sitll have either Q, Joe Johnson, or Jim Jackson wide open, draining 3's all night long.Quote:

Parker and Ginobili missed open jump shots in that quarter.
Them Horry and Duncan fumbling the ball away let them back in.
The Suns D forced those shots.
So once again, keep thinking the Suns have figured out that the Zone pack the lane continues to frusterate and baffle this goddamn team.
BTW Tim Duncan just said,
"They got set defensively and played well defensively"
So Duncan doesnt see they got set either???
I'm with you TPark. They didn't play their best in the fourth quarter. I was more concerned about the lack of offense, though.
But they did win. And in the playoffs, a win is a win. Every one gets you closer to the ultimate goal, and the Spurs managed to get the job done tonight.
If the offense sputters against the Pistons in the finals, the Spurs might be in trouble though. There will be many more droughts against a good defensive team in the next round, and the Spurs have shown that their offense can disappear when the pressure intensifies.
Good win tonight. But they'll have a better chance of winning against a good defensive team in the finals if they execute better in the fourth.
TPark is a Loser!
The Suns went to a zone and a sagging D in the 4th and conceded the mid-range shots. The Spurs missed a lot of their jumpers and Timmy didn't go right away with his move on the block, so they bogged down some. They doubled Tim hard and Marion and Hunter defended him pretty well.
The Suns should zone more in game 4.
T park, you said that Manu and Tony were taking a bunch of shots all 4th quarter...but they didn't really.
It was just a bunch of stupid turnovers, and duncan shots, crap like that.
I am confused how bad could the o had been in the 4 they scored 22 points
and they scored 18 in the second
the o in the second was MUCH WORSE
spurs have been good in 4 against suns
first game they failed to score only 4 times down the court
they got cocky tonight in 4 and shot jumpshots and missed some
but it was because they had the big lead
