Re: Ene-Be-A: Ginobili and Splitter
Translation of Ginobili's interview:
Reporter: "Manu, sup"
Manu "hey"
Reporter: "You are the best"
Manu: "while that's true, there are others who get as much attention in the US as me, and that's not fair but hey, it's a capitalist regime so fuck it"
Reporter: "We love you"
Manu: "of course, of course, but please try to contain it"
Reporter: "The American idiots lost the game for you"
Manu: "This I know. It happens a lot over here, but I make big dollars so I just try to show anger when we lose"
Reporter: "Can you hook a brother up with a Tim Duncan autograph?"
Manu: "sure, he signed my balls one day, here, lick it off"

Re: Ene-Be-A: Ginobili and Splitter
Racist jokes withstanding . . . I'm pretty sure the Spurs drafted Lopez and traded him to Vancouver for Antonio Daniels.

That's like writing an-Be-Ay in English...

Re: Ene-Be-A: Ginobili and Splitter
What's so racist about saying taco stand? She's from Mexico, she likes tacos. I like tacos and I am not in Mexico. If anything, it would be nationalist or foodist.

Re: Ene-Be-A: Ginobili and Splitter
Wow, there is a Felipe Lopez that plays pro baseball and one that plays tennis. Plus the one the Spurs drafted.
If I have a Mexican baby, I'm naming him "Felipe Lopez".

Re: Ene-Be-A: Ginobili and Splitter
Just gonna translate the question that I think matters the most, the rest are the usual:
"How do you feel being a reference to latin americans, why the spurs are playing great, etc etc".
R:How possible do you see yourself winning the MVP award?
Manu: IM-possible. Zero chances.

Re: Ene-Be-A: Ginobili and Splitter
And here I thought that was just an early picture of Tom Waits in his avatar.

Re: Ene-Be-A: Ginobili and Splitter
wasn't the 'ene-be-a' sloganeering done by a San Antonio spanish-oriented marketing firm?
we only have our own to blame for annoying, poorly thought out nonsense.

He is from Dominican Republic.A big star in the high school.
(From wikipedia: He was selected as New York State Mr. Basketball and also named a McDonald's All-American and took MVP honors at the 1994 McDonald's All-American Game)
I remember an interview with him in a magazine here in Spain. He was going to be a big star in the NBA.Big espectations. He was on the cover of Sport Illustrated but he never had a good role in the league.
And you are right,Spurs drafted him.

The most important part, the rest usual questions about .. how do you feel, answer I feel young.
Did you imagine this present personally and as a part of Spurs, answer no, but when the team play well the individual role looks better.
What was you favorite player before reaching NBA, answer in 1990s when NBA's game started to be shown in ARG was and is Michael Jordan, we (Manu and his brothers) were super fans of him.
