I could understand the first two games.
But not the third game. Get your ass back here and play.
Tim's father died, he missed one game, and he was back for the next one.
You're paying him?Quote:
That's what we're paying him for.
Fire him then.
He wouldn't have gotten more than 10 minutes tops this series had he even been here.
GTF over it.

You talk tough, but if any member of your family died, youd want the same amount of consideration.
Show a fucking heart.
If I may make the title suggestion for this guy...
"Fucking Asshole" has a nice ring to it.
Geez, cut the guy some slack...
We're winning aren't we?
It's not like you personally are paying him or anything.
When I had a death in the family, my boss was very understanding as said to take as much time as I needed.
People handle grief differently.
exactly, and Tim, thought he was ready and came back for game 5.Quote:
And the Spurs also told Tim to take all the time needed.
Glenn isnt ready yet.
Its his mother, give the guy some respect and show some respect to his family.
Weak thread.

Maybe its just me, but I'm sure I saw Glenn at the game tonight (on tv) he just wasn't playing.
Not as weak as anything TPark starts.Quote:

Any guy that "calls out" a guy for not being back to, pretty much a game, a meaningless sport in the context of life, because he is greiving his mother's death, is a complete asshole.
No, I prefer: Coyote > David RobinsonQuote:

HIS MOTHER DIED.
God get a clue!!!!
STFU BradlyDrawnBoy, for once I'm backing up TPark in one of his posts.
He's had a long enough time off.Quote:

My prayers and thoughts go out to Glenn and his family.
God Bless You.
As for the people calling him out, how are you gonna say crap like that after the man's mother died, I cant imagine what he is going through!!!! It was his mom for goodness sake!!! I hope he takes all the time he needs. The last thing I want (for him mor than the Spurs) is for him to try and play when he's not ready! That could hurt him even more. God Bless you Glenn!
No, it's because you're an idiot.
You don't rip a guy for missing games because his mother fucking died...you unmitigated douchebag!
If your goal was to establish yourself as the biggest fucking ass on the forum...congrats, you succeeded with 1 post.
OMG, I cant believe someone is actually typing this nonsense.Quote:

Whos food on whos table was he denying tonight by not playing???
The Sport is meaningless in comparison to life.
God wake up.
Welcome to FSP, Stephen A. Smith.
WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU TO SAY!!!!!Quote:

how do YOU know how much time it takes.
Man, FUck you, is all i can say.
Fuck you you asshole.
I'm ripping him for missing today's game.
Not game 1 and 2.
I can understand that.
And I send my best wishes to his family and him.
But he should have been at game 3.
It's his job. My mother didn't get all the time she needed when her mother died last year.
Exactly!!Quote:

Its his father, and I was totally suprised when he played in 02 in game 5.
No, Family comes BEFORE basketball PERIOD.
For you to ASSUME otherwise is downright hatefull and totally wrong.
That's DUNCAN you're talking about!!!Quote:

It was her decision.
The thing is, how badly would it have effected her income had she continued to grieve a week or two more.
Life goes on.It doesn't stop for you when someone close to you dies.
This thread is sickening.
You don't know him or his circumstance with his mother. Did she die suddenly or had she been sick and he expected it? If she died suddenly, then maybe he needs until next season to recover from it. Maybe he just needs until next week. But no matter how long he needs, it doesn't matter. His employer (the Spurs) told him to take as long as he needed to get himself together. He's doing that. If they aren't questioning him, then you shouldn't be.
R.I.P to his mom.
Yep, so why stress over your 11th man missing 3 wins?Quote:

WTF does it matter WHOEVER it is?!?!?!
Duncan, Ginobili, ANYONE should have as much time as they NEED, to grieve for a loved one.
Because:Quote:

You see where I'm going with it.
With one man you give him all the time.
With another you don't because it'll hurt the team.
Now why the fuck are you calling me out on being classless, not caring, etc.
Shouldn't Duncan have been able to miss the entire Seattle series if he wanted to?
But if he did, he'd be cursed to the moon.
Would I be upset that Tim missed the 3 games....no. I would be disappointed but in the end...it would be the right thing to do.
Exactly!!!Quote:

Uh no...most of us wouldn't have been upset.
Then again....most of us had or have mothers...most being the key word there....
While others of us(this means you)...were born when a dog defecated on the sidewalk..
Yes, he could have. But he chose not to do so.Quote:

Perfectly worded, and yes, R.I.P to his mother, I hope if Glenn decides to come back, that he is READY to come back.
Godspeed Glenn.
Because what if our offense was going cold, not working, and Robinson was the answer.Quote:

You seriously need to get your priorities straight. If he's not ready to come back, he'd be useless on the court anyway. Basketball is just a game. You may remember some people said this same shit when Timmy's dad died--they said he had an obligation to play because he was getting paid so much to play. Fuck that. I'd quit a job that told me I couldn't attend a funeral.Quote:

lol great post Whottt.
I know I would miss alot of time from work, my mother is very special to me, and I try not to think about her passing on, because it honestly makes me sick to my stomach.
Anyone that can be this heartless about his situation is a, I dont know what.
But the thing is, because he's so important to the team, he wouldn't no matter what be able to do so.Quote:

It's that simple.
I'm not condemning Glenn.
But to me, 7 days is enough time to get your emontions in check and be ready to perform at your job.
Then you lose the game.Quote:

Once again
Real Life > Basketball
Get your priorities straight.
Well that's the point TO YOU it is enough time. Obviously TO HIM it's not.Quote:

Maybe Glenn Needs more time, hes not as coldhearted and heartless as you obviously fuckwad.
word.Quote:

It hasn't been a problem, so why worry about "what ifs"?
You're calling out someone whose mother died, whose superiors told him to take all the time he needed, and (least importantly) who would not have made any difference in the previous 3 games.
Not only is your take ludicrous, it's irrelevant.
For berating Glenn before finding out his mother died.Quote:

I agree.
I mean, imagine if your mom died but a forum depended on you, relied on your amazing ability to keep it abreast of all major retail, office, and residential developments in the greater San Antonio area. What do you do? Oh, what do you do?
Do you leave that keyboard? Do you not power up that laptop?

dude you gotta be shitting me? First of all its none of your business and secondly the people whose business it is said to take as long as was needed. Apologise and move on as this is the weakest, most tasteless shit I have ever seen on this forum.
It's not your job to decide where that job lies on his priority list. It's his employers'. Take it up with ownership if you don't like it. Maybe next you'll target companies who give their employees too many weeks of vacation.Quote:

When I lived in L.A., one of my business partners died suddenly. My other partner (his girlfriend) took about 4 months off of work. It wasn't even her relative -- just her long-term boyfriend. You can't judge how long people need to recover from a death of a loved one. Some people go to work the next day -- because that's how they handle it. Some people can't even leave their bed for while -- because that's how they handle it.
