Re: Sadly, the left's voice of reason is Jon Stewart
JS speaks more truth in one show than Fox Repug Propaganda network manages in a month, or a year.

BecKKK
Gingrich
Limbaugh
pitbull bitch
Fox Repug Propaganda
(as a Repug said, Repugs work for Fox now, not Fox working for Repugs)

Re: Sadly, the left's voice of reason is Jon Stewart
Why is it sad?
He also does point out that political pundits should watch their own rhetoric. Which I think it's an important point to make.
As I stated in another thread, I don't think the attack was a direct consequence of the vitriol. The vitriol doesn't help though. It's simply used to inflame and create animosity between both sides, when the exchange should consist of respectful debate.

I've always liked Stewart. I like that he takes shots at Fox AND MSNBC (much to the chagrin of our intellectual superiors at MSNBC).

Re: Sadly, the left's voice of reason is Jon Stewart
"studies have shown" that even healthy people, esp kids, are desensitized to violence when they see/hear a lot of it. The effect is amplified in mentally ill people.
The Repug/tea baggers/hate-media/NRA suggesting/pushing gun violence is clearly injurious, but it makes great sounds bites, and of course makes great dog whistles for the sickos and wannabe Rambos.

b_d, you better watch yourself, you're contributing to a shrill political climate that could make you culpable if some nut hurts someone. There are a couple of Democrats in the House who are already talking about outlawing such inflammatory language. They better send a memo to Obama while they're at it.

Re: Sadly, the left's voice of reason is Jon Stewart
I laugh-out-loud at vitriol...... It's just SO much greater than it's been over the last decade. :wakeup

It's sad that the left's voice of reason is eloquent, compassionate, well informed, and quick witted?
'Kay.

Re: Sadly, the left's voice of reason is Jon Stewart
(Not to mention that the speech for which you are crediting Stewart as the voice of reason is very similar to what many of those of us on the left have said here, and similar to much of the discourse I have heard from other liberals out in the real world).

Darrin is a little slow.

Seriously, you would think Democrats would lay off before the entire country realizes they're the ones with the hateful, violence-inducing rhetoric.

Re: Sadly, the left's voice of reason is Jon Stewart
What assassinations did the Democrats induce?
-
Re: Sadly, the left's voice of reason is Jon Stewart
Barry Obongo sure does like sending his drones out to kill people and word on the streets is he is a democrat.

Didn't this nut's high school friends say he was a left-winger? Not to say the Democrats are responsible, just pointing out how ridiculous it is to try to politicize the issue and blame Republicans without evidence.

Not the same Democrat that is out today. Don't be so obtuse. Just because he was a Democrat doesn't mean he shares the same ideas as modern Democrats. It's the same reason why the South doesn't vote Democrat anymore.
