I am not following the logic here. If you take away the 3s, that means they never happened (unless you are removing the score from them after the end of the game, which wasn't the point).

You cannot just take the final score and say that would have been the score regardless, because the score at the end of the 3rd is what made Pop put in the subs. Without those 3s, that score is closer and the subs never enter the game.

There's always a consequence unless you just want to apply the magical trump card.

My bad, mucca. Let me break it down for ya:

Six multiplied by three, equals eighteen. If the Spurs don't make six three-pointers, for a total of eighteen points, they only wind up eighty-three points; the final score would then be Mavs 89, Spurs 83.

"If you take those threes out of the game, I think we win," is what Maid Marion said. And he's right, only there's no thinking about it.
