why not?
your comments guys?

Re: Bonner in the three point shooting contest
I think it would be great for Bonner. It can only help his confidence, being invited to allstar weekend and all.
Also, if it further strengthens his reputation as a dead eye shooter then that's even better. Whether his nerves are up for the playoffs or not, that reputation will help.

Re: Bonner in the three point shooting contest
He will win it :toast
Go Bonner :clap
-
Re: Bonner in the three point shooting contest
It will increase his trading value imho.

Re: Bonner in the three point shooting contest
Roger Mason was never the same after completely failing in the 3pt Shooting contest......Bonner should rest up
-
Re: Bonner in the three point shooting contest
Bonner would not do well in the 3point shooting contest because he takes a little longer to launch it than the guards. He would probably not get through all the racks.
-
Re: Bonner in the three point shooting contest
I was just thinking about that earlier. But hey, why not? Go for it! :toast

Re: Bonner in the three point shooting contest
Bonner would not make it to the 3rd rack...he's too slow...put Manu in there!
-
Re: Bonner in the three point shooting contest
Gary Neal would probably be better than Bonner tbh.

Yes, his confidence could take a hit if he doesn't do well.

To slow to get through the racks and if you havent noticed, he doesnt shoot from corners and there are 2 corner shots in the 3 pt contest. He would really struggle.

Re: Bonner in the three point shooting contest
Bonner deserves to go, but I don't think he'd finish the third rack either. Let Neal go instead.

Re: Bonner in the three point shooting contest
Bonner deserves a shot.
Neal too.
-
Re: Bonner in the three point shooting contest
I'll have to agree with those that think Bonner would not make it through all the racks. His shot and release are way to slow for soemthing like this. Even if he did try he would have to be rushing his shot taking him away from his comfort zone.
-
Re: Bonner in the three point shooting contest
if somebody could throw the balls to Bonner so he just has to catch & shoot, it would be a different story. I agree with sending Neal.
-
Re: Bonner in the three point shooting contest
Bonner's catch and release would be way too slow. Like Kori said, he wouldn't even finish the third rack.
At least Neal has a very quick release, which would be suitable for the 3 point competition.

Re: Bonner in the three point shooting contest
What needs to be said has already been said.
But I'd still love to see him try. :lol

Re: Bonner in the three point shooting contest
Bonner and Neal both deserve a shot at it. But we've been through this every year, we always have 1 or 2 guys in the Top 10 in 3 point FG% and no Spur ever gets invited...

Re: Bonner in the three point shooting contest
If the league knew what was good for it, it would put Bonner in. Who doesn't wanna see the guy who looks like your everyday bus driver out there raining threes? Plus watching him T-Rex around from rack to rack would be classic television.

Re: Bonner in the three point shooting contest
I actually remember Bonner doing quite well when he participated in the 3-point shootout at Florida. I can't find the video or a link but I think he actually finished second . . .

Re: Bonner in the three point shooting contest
NBA said he didn't have enough attempts to qualify.:p:
-
Re: Bonner in the three point shooting contest
he will probably be part of the haier shooting stars competition...that is if they have a team spurs

Manu doesn't have a quick release either. Neal would be perfect for this competition.

He's made threes from the corner, I don't know where you get that notion. Literally the first result from a google search of Spurs shot chart gives a shot chart where Bonner was 1-1 from corner threes.

Re: Bonner in the three point shooting contest
Oh shit, how come I've never thought of this before. Neal or Bonner should totally be in.
-
Re: Bonner in the three point shooting contest
Neal probably wouldn't finish the racks either. He gets it off quick, but has a pretty slow recovery because he gets up high and has a pretty hefty follow through.
