"We Were a Stalin-esque Mouthpiece for Bush"
Yoni and friends, prove to us again with all that "fair and balanced" data that Fox Repug Propaganda network is a true, objective "news" organization. :lol
a former insider from the world of Rupert Murdoch was quick with a response: “I don’t think people would believe it’s as concocted as it is; that stuff is just made up.”
Indeed, a former Fox News employee who recently agreed to talk with Media Matters confirmed what critics have been saying for years about Murdoch’s cable channel. Namely, that Fox News is run as a purely partisan operation, virtually every news story is actively spun by the staff, its primary goal is to prop up Republicans and knock down Democrats, and that staffers at Fox News routinely operate without the slightest regard for fairness or fact checking.
“It is their M.O. to undermine the administration and to undermine Democrats,” says the source. “They’re a propaganda outfit but they call themselves news.”
“They say one thing and do another. They insist on maintaining this charade, this façade, that they’re balanced or that they’re not right-wing extreme propagandist,” says the source. But it’s all a well-orchestrated lie, according this former insider. It’s a lie that permeates the entire Fox News culture and one that staffers and producers have to learn quickly in order to survive professionally.
“You have to work there for a while to understand the nods and the winks,” says the source. “And God help you if you don’t because sooner or later you’re going to get burned.”
“You could never error on the side of not being intolerant enough.”
“It was a kick ass mentality too,” says the former Fox News insider. “It was relentless and it never went away. If one controversy faded, goddamn it they would find another one. They were in search of these points of friction real or imagined. And most of them were imagined or fabricated. You always have to seem to be under siege. You always have to seem like your values are under attack. The brain trust just knew instinctively which stories to do, like the War on Christmas.”
Fox News is designed to mislead its viewers and designed to engage in a purely political enterprise.

Re: "We Were a Stalin-esque Mouthpiece for Bush"
It's funny that collage had the "Is Mr. Rogers Ruining Kids" thing in there.
There has been a lot of really, shitty, evil Fox bullshit over the years. That ones takes the cake as the most mean-spirited and shitty of them all. If not so consequential.

That jumped out at me too.
Leave it to the scumbags running Fox "news" to shit on a guy who was probably numbered among the saintly, kind, and good among us.

Re: "We Were a Stalin-esque Mouthpiece for Bush"
Funny...
How many insiders have now talked about Fox in such a way?
Maybe just the one?
Until several more say the same thing, I think we can call this bullshit. Even the so-called journalist reporting this works with a left leaning bias.
-
Re: "We Were a Stalin-esque Mouthpiece for Bush"
a Fox Repug Propaganda ex-insider confirms what us Super Intelligent and Perceptive Outsiders have been saying for years.
Therefore, WC trashes the ex-insider as untrustable, and WC "needs more data, needs more study". :lol

Just who is this unnamed source?
I simply have trouble with that.
unnamed...

Re: "We Were a Stalin-esque Mouthpiece for Bush"
Don't post much these days, should have to present my bona fides - but suffice it to say:
Resident arch-conservative here.
Never had cable until two months ago.
Really.
Fox "News" is unwatchable.
It is, in fact, worse than the "MSM"; although that's not saying a great deal.
I watch PBS News Hour, and BBC World pretty much exclusively, or simply peruse the internet for what's going on.
Fox is really, really bad.

just look at it.
do you understand what the word "bias" means?

Cobra just being the idiot he's supposed to be.

When you guys start complaining to the same degree about MSNBC, CNN, etc... I'll consider such arguments might be valid. Until then, hold off on your hypocrisy please.
-
Re: "We Were a Stalin-esque Mouthpiece for Bush"
Somehow i seriously doubt guys like WC and some others on here get their news strictly from Fox. I'm conservative yet I rarely ever turn it on. I do like their layout a lot more than the other networks though.

The rest of the channels spew liberal propaganda and I don't watch any of them. We aren't talking about them, we are talking about Fox News.
Nothing should keep you from seeing that Fox News absurdly biased. You have literally just said that you are willfully ignorant. I am not a liberal, as I am sure you have just implied, and I do not appreciate being called a hypocrite for doing nothing but pointing out the AMAZING hypocrisy of Fox News claiming they are "Fair & Balanced".
We are living in Orwellian times, and people like you are the reason why.
-
Re: "We Were a Stalin-esque Mouthpiece for Bush"
There would be no MSNBC without Fox News. If you hate MSNBC, blame Fox.
Or rather, its intellectually impotent viewers. Seriously, if you can watch 15 minutes of that garbage without feeling like you're being spoken to like a gullible and emotionally oversensitive fool, then you probably are one.
-
Re: "We Were a Stalin-esque Mouthpiece for Bush"
Wild Cobra, you really are pathetic.
You choose to ignore truth and facts and will only consider it when "the other team (democrats) acknolwedges some stuff too!"
do you see how dishonest you are to yourself?
that's so pathetic, so dumbed down, i want to puke. i hope you are just trolling and not actually like this.
any honest, intellectual will NOT CARE what the "other team" is doing, what a foreign entity is doing. they will have enough self-respect and a desire for self-improvement (that never goes away until death).. that they would look within themselves and fix and improve themselves, REGARDLESS of what anyone else is doing... because your OWN values dictate who you are and what you will accept.... instead, look at you wild cobra...just look at you.
wild cobra, seriously, i hope you are trolling. if you aren't, you have to take a long good look at yourself in the mirror.

I see the partisan action in play. I am simply sick and tired of these continual "rant" threads about republicans. Should republicans and conservatives choose to "rant" about every little thing we found wrong with democrats and liberals, the threads would be endless.

I'm not being dishonest, but pointing out true concerns.
Who is this unnamed source? How safe is it to assume (s)he is a disgruntled employee that well say anything for retribution? I can see truth in the basic message, but not to the degree stated.

Are you saying it's improper to point out the hypocrisy you are guilty of?

I'm not a big fan of most TV, but I'd go nuts without ESPN, FoxSports, and TNT for the NBA and College hoops coverage.

All you gotta do is a sort the last two months worth of threads in this forum by thread starter and head to the end page or two.
Two full pages of bizarro boutons' rants in all their glory.
http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/foru...une=60&page=13
http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/foru...&pp=25&page=14
Those two pages comprise a full 14% of ALL the threads commented on in the last 2 months, and more than any other single one poster, myself included.

Wait what...so you're telling me an "Insider" is reporting that Fox "News" is biased...only working for the right...and spins every story...

Re: "We Were a Stalin-esque Mouthpiece for Bush"
24 hour news had so much potential.....where the fuck did it go wrong?
...but unfortunately, its not only cable news anymore, just look at ABC News....remember when they used to do investigative journalism on shit that really mattered like government graft and incompetence? what happened to those days?
Now they have John Quinones doing hit pieces on parents of fat kids and anti-Semites
real journalism is dead..

The corporations buy the ads, the corporations call the tunes.
Cable "news", any "news", is nothing but a business. Ask Arianna.

The liberals buy ads, things go wrong too.
It's a free society, and people have free will. Do ads really make that much difference?
-
Re: "We Were a Stalin-esque Mouthpiece for Bush"
"liberals buy ads"
eg, Progressive Insurance? :lol (I've seen chain emails telling bubba to boycott Progressive Insurance"
"Do ads really make that much difference"
without ads, no TV.
Do you think cable TV, if it had true investigative journalism ("60 minutes" is a joke ) would go after BigPharma and thereby have BigPharma stop advertizing?
Do you think cable TV, if it had true investigative journalism would go after BigFood for advertising junk food to kids and thereby lose all of BigFood's ads?
One tiny little voice to be silenced by the Repugs:
"In a budget proposal made public on Wednesday, House Republicans announced plans to zero out all funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), the nonprofit responsible for funding public media including NPR, PBS, Pacifica and more."

American TV is so fucking worthless. If you go to the UK you have BBC2, BBC4, and Channel 4 who do amazing scientific and political programming (especially BBC Horizon) while Discovery and The Learning Channel have devolved into shows about blowing shit up, reality garbage about dwarves and rednecks with 30 kids, political ads for that idiot Palin, and all sorts of other brainless crap. Meanwhile CPB constantly being on the chopping block means we don't get that level of original programming here. Even Nova, by far the best program on American TV, is usually just edited BBC Horizon episodes now.
