Just asking this for future reference. I want a 32 gig at the very minimum. I like my ipod touch and all, but I would like to know what else is out there.

cell phone + microsd card?
Where do you want to use it? What other features are you looking for? Price range?
300 or 400 price range. I don't wknow what I'd want. Internet browsing, though. And I see that Cowon's can play AVI. That's pretty awesome.
Apple or not, I'd want something that plays MP3's and does cell calls.
Get a Cowan
Seems that's the only answer. I'd prefer something more than 32, though.
Cowon X7 is probably the kind of device you're looking for...
The only drawback of the thing is that it's harddrive-based, but that's the price for getting more than 32G of storage.
Cowon is still one of the, if not the, best manufaturers in terms of sound quality, battery life & so on...

Damn, that looks awesome. 80 gig would suffice.
No wi-fi, though. Hmmm.
FOr the gym, I like my little Sensa Clip
Like buying generic Pop-Tarts tbh
I have a creative Zen vision M. But sadly they aren't made anymore.
I disagree, lets say that the Ipod provides the best MP3 player (essentially I am asking you to ignore that Cowon exists). I don't know how many times I have heard that "I can't do that, Itunes wont let me" from people who have an Ipod (fanboys or casual users both). That in and of itself is enough to make me stay away.
My 4th gen Touch is nice. I just wanted to know what else was out there. Cowon X7 looks tempting, but it will be hard to pull the trigger.
Ok, I believe you because most a large amount of the apple users I know are not very technically inclined. The most recent example I have is that a friend of mine really liked the music collection his friend had, and rather than getting it from him, he bought that friend's ipod with the music on it (friend didn't want an ipod anymore and went a different way for an MP3 player. However, he said that if he connects it to itunes it will erase the content from it. He asked me if I know how to solve this, and I told him that although I am relatively technically inclined, the one area where I don't have much experience is apple products and therefore couldn't help him. He asked me how I did it with my mp3 player and I told him I just plug in and drag and drop without some program in between. Is there a way to do this?
From previous posts (about headphones and such) that I have read of yours, it seems that you are an audiophile (you pay attention to the quality of the sound). If I am correct in my assessment everything I have read points to cowon having far and away the best sound out of any mp3 player on the market. You probably won't be disappointed.
I'm definitely not an audiophile. I certainly do care about sound quality and headphones, though. That's another reason I was looking into buying a Cowon(pending model).
It will probably be on my list after I buy another good pair of headphones and a good portable, and non portable AMP.
Never had to try it, but this should work:

I got a Cowon J3 for christmas and it fucking rules. The X7 would have been my second choice. So under rated. There are a bunch me user created interfaces, and extra add on for Their players. you can find then over at iaudiophile.net. I downloaded some pretty handy UCIs for my player and it made the awesome product even more awesome. WINNING.
