True that!

Newsflash....just about ALL the talking heads have predicted a Lakers return to the Finals-now that the lakers are playing "lakerball", that rhetoric will be constantly repeated.
Don't like the lack of the respect Spurs aren't getting but......it's just opinion.......hope Spurs can prove everyone wrong this year.
I don't know why some people are acting like this is some outlandish thing? If you were going to pick an upset, IMO, this would be the most likely one and I am not even that huge of a believer in the Thunder.
However, they do have two elite perimeter scorers that the Spurs have no answer for.
Jon Barry played for Denver and Houston in the last few years of his career. San Antonio has knocked out Denver Multiple times in the playoffs and the Rockets have lost the season series to San Antonio for the 14th consecutive season IIRC (in other words, since Duncan arrived). Is it any wonder there is animosity on J Barry's part?
Jon Barry has had reason to dislike SA (and has) for a lot longer than the whole thing with his brother.
TBH, picking OKC over San Antonio is not a huge stretch. Picking OKC over the Lakers or Dallas is not a huge stretch either given their raw talent. With experience, OKC will be playing in the Finals at some point in the near future and there's nothing anyone (including the lakers) can do about it.
The Spurs have been winning with offensive efficiency, not dominating defense. I can see why people would have concern about how they will do in the playoffs and getting to the Finals. Most honest fans here have the same curiosity. Nonetheless, Jon Barry is sort of douchey. Nowhere near as cool as Brent.
He declared them done and used to smile alot when saying it, he was truly truly glad to say that and wanted them gone. He hates the Spurs and has for a while, this is nothing new and it is so obvious it's not even remotely funny. This is clear as day to most.
This has nothing to do with OKC. Van Gundy and Barry are nothing more than butthurt announcers who take every chance that they can to dismiss the Spurs.
Both are bitter because the Spurs have always been in their way to get to the next level. Asking Barry what he thinks about SA is like asking a republican what he thinks about Obama or a democrat about Bush.
OMG a person doesn't like the Spurs!!! Quick, let's all give a damn!!! Who cares really? Jon has his opinion, and that's all he has.
Why does anyone care what some talking head says on tv/radio/internet?
It has no bearing on what actually happens. It only has to do with their ratings.
Again......
WHO THE HELL CARES??
Lakaluva, your sig is awesome. It must be said.
Terrible upset pick by Barry. But then again, I would expect nothing less from him. In my upset pick I would go with a team that is:
- too old (not the Spurs anymore since our scoring comes from guys like TP, Manu, Hill, Blair, Neal, Bonner)
- too inexperienced relative to the opponent (in no way is this the case for the Spurs against any team in the NBA, especially against OKC)
- badly coached (again, not the Spurs, since Pop is the longest tenured active coach in the NBA)
If anyone were to get upset, it would be Dallas. And that's not because I'm a Spurs homer, it's because they have a track record of being upset by lower seeded teams and have dramatically changed their roster again this year, twice. Those types of changes can come to haunt a team in the playoffs when options 1 and 2 can be shut down (especially if they play a team with long defenders who can guard Nowitzki like the Lakers or Thunder).

He's entitled to his opinion, and I think a lot of people would pick OKC. One thing is for sure. If the Spurs win the championship, I think that this will undeniably have been the toughest road they traveled.
Jon Barry just said Spurs are better than Miami.

Crucify him!!!
But out of respect you have to look at the amount of Championships Jon Barry has won and how many coaching victories he has....................NONE
