Kinda hard to get FT's when you only jump shoot.

When they did drive they got hacked. They weren't getting the calls like the Heat so they kinda gave up the drive and resorted to jump shooting. Hell Hubie was confused with a bunch of the calls that went against the Spurs even some no calls that he thought should have been called. Then again I don't think the Spurs really get to play when Crawford is officiating.

Re: Spurs: 2-3 FT Heat: 14-15 FT
You know it kinda looked to me the Heat were playing something resembling a 2-3 zone at times. They were loose on the perimeter and were allowing Spurs players to shoot, only the jumper wasn't there for them today. The Heat blocked the few layup attempts of the Spurs and got most of the defensive rebounds to be had. A couple times, the Heat kept some guards back so they could start a fast break. Hence, the high number of jump shots from the Spurs. Also, Wade's block on Duncan was HUGE. Duncan needs to go strong with that.
Also I want to point out the charge on Ginobili when he did try to get to the rim was a huge momentum killer. On the other end, Ginobili fell over (either by force or acting ability, I don't know) thanks to Bosh, James and others. No-call. That sends a pretty big message right there.

Tim gets raked across the chest and neck by Wade, no call.
Bosh barely gets touched and they give him that call. Twice.
Tony gets bludgeoned and they give him the turnover.
Manu barely cuts underneath Wade and they call him for his 3rd foul.
Crawford's a cunt.
Can anyone think of any other sport where the names of the referees are common knowledge?
Can anyone think of any other sport that's as frequently accused of being rigged?

Re: Spurs: 2-3 FT Heat: 14-15 FT
The most interesting thing is that the final box score showed an almost equal number of FTA by both teams. Too bad the Spurs got FTAs when it didn't matter anymore. As people say, it's a shame they "chose to be aggressive" at the very end of the game.

We better hold on to that HCA... it's no guarantee, but to say home cooking doesn't exist in the NBA is simply retarded. Every team gets it.

FWIW Wade went to the line about 4 times during the night off of jump-shot fouls and even fucking Chalmers got "fouled" shooting a jump-shot....

+1. But damn, Wade at home in Miami with home-cooking refs, and the Heat are damn near unbeatable....

Re: Spurs: 2-3 FT Heat: 14-15 FT
Does anybody know what the Spurs record is in games officiated by Joey Crawford since his reinstatement?
Can't keep a mental tab, but it seems like he has handed us a 2-15 deficit in that span...
If I were the Spurs FO I would boycott any playoff game where Joey was assigned as ref... :bang

I agree
I just hope we won't face the 1995 Rockets in the playoffs :(

I wasn't being serious...
Just pissed at the obvious... and that the league doesn't care that such blatant bias exists (regardless of who the Spurs are playing against - NBA darlings or not)...

Re: Spurs: 2-3 FT Heat: 14-15 FT
How bout wade's block on Duncan they keep showing, he fucking front palm thrusted him in the solar plexus with his left had before blocking it with his right(no call) if I could do that and get away with it I'd lead the league in blocked shots.

If you look at the close-up view from the baseline and pause/unpause in rapid fashion, notice how Wade never touches the ball until well after the initial collision. The collision weakens the shot as it is coming out of Tim's hand, enabling Wade to get to it.

It looked like Wade kinda pushed Tim down!

Re: Spurs: 2-3 FT Heat: 14-15 FT
i'm sick of watching games like this. The league is already having issues with fan support and ect. some may say david stern has done alot for the nba but i think in reality he's running it into the ground. I think it's ridiculous that certain stars in this league are protected by the ref's so much. if it wasn't for the spurs i would really careless about the nba as a whole. Even though baseball and football has had their share of black eyes " recent on going nfl lockout " they do not seem to baby their superstars as much as the nba. Over the years the nba has made this to obvious. Last nights game after a while just became unwatchable. The foul calls get to be so outragous; i think some of the players on the court just give up. The game is supposed to be 5 on 5, not 5 on 8. The nba is like our galaxy and david stern is god.

Re: Spurs: 2-3 FT Heat: 14-15 FT
Tuned out middle of the second. Spurs didn't show up, knew it wasn't going to get better, figured I'd save myself the time.
Other than the blowout of the Heat at home, can't remember the last time the Spurs looked like a legit contender. They've either taken their foot off the gas and gone Preserve Mode or they've already played their best ball.
Meh...
