Each opponent is either playing very well, or is jockeying for playoff spot or position.
Although we probably lose most or all of these, we don't need them probably either, which is crazy.
We have 6.5 on everyone, and 7 on the lakers. If we get Tim back in 2 weeks, then we have him for the last 5 games of the season, including a game against the lakers.
Even if we lose all 6 of the above games, if we win the rest, which are all games we should win except the game at the Lakers, and the Lakers run the table, we are tied with the Lakers.
I don't think we lose all 6 and the Lakers win out. So, even if we lose to the Lakers, and lose almost all the above 6, we still are just barely holding on to the top seed.
Granted, the margin for error just crumbled into dust. But we should hold on if Tim comes back in about 2 weeks or less.

LA knows how to play within the moment. I expected them to go 20-5 after the break if healthy - they are far surpassing that now.
They would look at it simply as finishing the year 11-1 with a team playing well and a favorable home schedule.

2. Will mean more minutes over all for Tiago and Novak. If both continue to produce then Pop may find time for them come the playoffs that actually might make a positive difference in some games.
3. What better way to find out how good some of these guys are then playing them major minutes against playoff teams that are playing as hard as they can as they jockey for position.
Agreed.

wow, very impressed that you referred to the Lakers without using "we" or "us" like typical LakerFan....
that said, the Lakers could run the table but they aren't catching the Spurs. Spurs will probably play .500 ball without Timmy and thats enough to lock up HCA throughout....
dont think it would be wise for the Lakers to try and catch the spurs anyways and risk wearing out Kobe, Bynum, Fish, etc.
i do think they finish with the 2nd best record overall.

I agree with Mugen, WE may stay ahead of the Mavs but it is not likely for US to catch the Spurs….

yes, and let me guess, if you were the GM of the Spurs you would trade Tim Duncan for any Greek player?

y'all need to grow a pair of balls and have some trust in your team. i think the Spurs will go 5-1 or 4-2. i will happily eat my words if neither is the case. this team is deep.
i fully believe that Tim Duncan is the anchor for the Spurs, and we would definitely not have the record we have if it weren't for TD... but to suggest we're going to lose most/all of these games is just pansy, balls-less bullcrap.
that is al..
and this... :tu

Agreed with honestfool. This is the spurs, not the mavs. Hopefully Tiago wack ford commercial Splitter can get some good run against these good teams.
Re: Worst time to lose TD
I think is good time to lose TD
- only 12 games to Spurs get the 1st position on West-Conference
- time to TD take a rest and get in shape to offs
- more minutes to Splitter development
:flag:
Re: Worst time to lose TD
Actually, the timing is great.
1/ The HCA is secured (yes it is).
2/ TD gets a great amount of rest before the PO
3/ When he comes back, he'll have enough time to find his rythm back
4/ Last but not least, it gives Tiago an amazing opportunity to step up right before the post season.
TD minor injury makes me happy and even more confident about our chances
Re: Worst time to lose TD
Spurs are gonna have to score 100+ points in all of these games coming up, obviously..
Duncan is no longer in the upper echelon of defensive players, but value-wise, the numbers show that there are only a few players in the NBA that have meant more to their team's defense, this season..Spurs D will be terrible, but their offense won't suffer too much, regular season Duncan hasn't been a huge factor from an offensive standpoint..
They should be able to compete in most of these games, I wouldn't be surprised to see a .500 record, which would be fine..

Good thing we have the Euroleague MVP and best post scorer outside of the NBA to step right in.

You don't think we'll win any of those? :lmao
You obviously don't know how resilient this team is.

If the Spurs can't win at least 2 of those games, they don't deserve to even sniff the championship.

Nope...no inside presence and on the road...I expect more Laker/Heat type losses...
Re: Worst time to lose TD
worst time would be game 7 against the lakers.

Are you one of the idiot laker fans who have been saying that Duncan is washed up, and now you would say that his absence will affect the team's record?
:nope
Re: Worst time to lose TD
You are missing my point.
Let me clarify.
This is hardest 6 game stretch in regualr season. Spurs can lose every one of them easily. No cupcakes in this stretch, all these teams except Boston are playing their best ball of the year, and Boston is Boston.
Ok, now can I get some agreement?

I agree with you on that all these games are super hard. Spurs need to win at least 2 out of these 6 games to lock up the first seed. I have a feeling the lakers will lose at least 2 more games which will put them at 60-22. The spurs need to get at least 4 more wins total and they will have the number 1 seed in the west locked up.
