I do not think that the players even look at what is on the floor. They play on 30 different floors, all season with 30 different colors and emblems...they could care less what is painted on the floor.
Manu will slide over that painted emblem and get floor burns on that just the same as any other paintjob.

If thats the only thing differenciating the regular court and that court, then thats kinda boring.
Realisticly, it's just a floor. That being said...

The NBA marketing department is REALLY going all out here. Watch next year, they WILL be playing on a gold plated floor (or maybe just diamond crusted, whichever is cheaper)

I think the trophy hardwood is nice..
I doubt it will distract anyone.
It's not distracting to players, but it's a big distracting eyesore looking at the court. I guess during game action it won't look as bad as it did today.

However, it might have been more appropriate to have saved it for the ring ceremony next season. You know the whole, work now, play ( or in this case, decorate) later idea.

Trust me, it looks wild at first, but it will grow on you. A&M just did this last year for their bball court and at first I thought it looked crazy but it turned out pretty slick.

I've dealt with that kind of over-the-top marking on the ice. It's probably not as annoying on the court, but it does get hard to even know what line you're near.
