It sounded like your fans weren't cheering at all during the intros and pregame, that's not a good way to rev up the home team! What's going on, Spurs fans? Are you guys always this quiet? :spin :blah

It depends on where the announcers' mikes are. Sometimes it sounds like thunderous applause, sometimes you hear next to nothing. Means nothing, baby!Quote:

The fans nor the rim is miked. :)Quote:

Notice when he was saying "Can't hear you, say it louder!" no one said anything lol.
my cousin at the game said it was loud and everyone was responding just didnt translate to tv
The crowd sound just fine to me.
It's the pre game. We wait for the REAL game to be loud.
Didnt we set numerous decible level records for indoor sporting events? That may have been back at Hemisphere or the Alamodome but SBC definately isnt much quieter.

They didn't have the audio synched, the canned stuff was piped in louder than the crowd on tv, so it sounded weak.
Mouse, is that you?
I think it doesn't matter...the Spurs did struggle...but the Spurs were focused..
No need for hype until the game begins..
Trust me, if they miked the crowd, everyone's stereo system would have blown up.
Trust me, I was not quiet. I'm in Arlington, VA and my boy was like.... Shut the fuck up! you gonna wake up my girl!!!!
Wait till the game comes to the Palace. Then you will hear what loud fans are like! The Palace rocks, and if you are there, your ears literally hurt after the game. Loudest place I've ever been to! It rocks!

I was in the house, and I can assure you that it was not quiet during the intros or during the key points of the game. If it didn't sound like the crowd was loud, it was only because it wasn't miked well. The roof nearly came off when Devin Brown was introduced, and I couldn't talk to the person next to me when Tim, Bruce, and Manu were introduced. It was as loud as I've ever heard the SBC Center -- on the magnitude of the noise level during the 4th Quarter of Game 6 of the 2003 Finals.
STFU.
Spurs in Four.

As ever, Sequ is on message and on point.Quote:

We were so loud like banshees in front of the TV :-)
Like someone said, the Spurs don't mic the rims or place mics toward the crowd -- so on TV, it seems quieter than other arenas.
But ask the Spurs opponents if it's loud, they all say it's one of the loudest arenas in the league in the postseason.
Were you at the game, or watching on tv? I was there. It was loud.Quote:

The Pistons knew where they were. :cooldevil
Take it for what it's worth, but I'm not your typical Piston fan talking trash.
I thought that the Spurs introduction was kind of boring. I'm not sure if that's how the NBA wanted it, but the giant NBA trophy, and the guys just walking out, standing next to the trophy, it just didn't do it for me. The "ONE TEAM" concept is pretty cool, but I thought a lot more could have been done with it.
Did you guys have a different intro during the rest of the playoffs, and it's different for the Finals? It didn't sound loud at all, but all the cameras showed the fans off the hook, so I don't doubt that it was rocking in there.
Great win by the way. Those of you who think it's going to be a sweep, I'd love to place a couple greenbacks on that with you. For those of you who think this is going to be a great series, and Game 1 is only one of 7, I hope to have great conversation about basketball this series.
It was pretty loud on my TV. Of course, the volume knob on my TV goes up to eleven.Quote:

The place was loud enough that you had to scream as loud as you could directly into the person's ear who was standing next to you, in order for them to hear you. When big plays went down, even that wasn't enough to be heard. When you scream with all your lungs, and you can't hear it for yourself, that is loud.
It was so loud that my ears are still ringing

So I guess you didn't hear me yelling, "Stop sitting there smiling and nodding your head!"Quote:

If this has been posted, I apologize, but I couldn't find a reference to it.Finals Decibel Level
It was extremely loud, during the intros, the timeouts, all of it. I think the loudest moment though was when David Robinson came out.
First of all I personally don't think it will be sweep but......at the rate the games have been played out, I am beginning to wonder about it......Quote:

As for the opneing....it sounded loud to me on TV.....but the presentation was a somewhat subdued.....I have a feeling the NBA had a large input on that aspect. Let's see how the intors go in Detroit and we can better evaluate the intros here and compare....we will get a better idea if it was the team's idea or not.
It was loud from where I was sitting.
Manu got the loudest ovation I believe.
I was watchin on TV but the crowd seemed extra loud last nite
I think the rim or the backboard is miked!Quote:

I was at both games and it was loud. But the fans usually only get loud chanting defense and when something exciting happens
That's the loudest I've heard ANY arena--ever. I've been to ARCO, the Delta Center, KeyArena, America West, you name it, but the 4th quarter in 2003 was the loudest I've ever heard.Quote:

I actually had to plug my ears that night.
The SBC Center doesn't mic the crowd....
And they shouldn't..
