That bolded part made me spit up my coca cola. The tea party did nothing to fuck up the debt ceiling or anything for that mater. They brought attention to, to help inform people what exactly it is. Barrys solution was voted down 97-0. The dem side didn't put anything up. The house passed their plan but Reid, the senate leader, a dem wouldn't allow a vote on it and barry said he would veto it as well. Dude, we're broke and adding more fake money to our debt caused the down grade. It's embarassing. Obamacare will bankrupt us. We're now a double a not triple a and if anyone is honest here, they would say we deserve it.

What's there to inform when the debt numbers are not necessarily a secret?
They ended up signing this thing that passed which still gives the WH what they want. In the process they've shown they're willing to destroy the country's credibility over their petty demands.

Barry's solution? Which one was that? Grand Bargain wasn't voted on because the tea party decided that working with the other side to the benefit of everyone in the country wouldn't benefit their side enough. Gang of Six started with an immediate swell of support ("went from gang of six to mob of 50"), Tea Party stopped that too (admittedly with help from Harry Reid). 4T dollars, twice!!! You want deficit reduction then start acting like it. Two plans, 4 T DOLLARS and their only problems were that there were some people with D's next to their names who helped create them. Cut, Cap, and Balance didn't go as far. It did not give 4T.

Then again, I am arguing with a troll (which should show everyone how much this pisses me off) so I know I am not going to get anywhere.

I should just admit that the math is 2T from R is > 4T from RD

The term "Debt Ceiling" has absolutely no meaning if a body can just vote an increase and *poof* you have more room to borrow.

The tea party, whether you want to admit it or not has helped bring more information to american households that generally would not be interested in politics. More people know what the debt ceiling is and I don't care how angry your little self gets, the tea party is not responsible for the US downgrade. That is ignorant to think. For you to think tea party was the reason a decision was not made faster is stupid as well.
