Trying to get him to define what it is he himself believes is like pulling teeth, mostly because he knows somewhere, deep down where he doesn't like to look, that what he believes is not supported by anything that approaches evidence.

Best I can recall of the point where he finally fessed up, was "aliens or something created earth and stuff not very long ago, and certainly not billions of years ago". I don't think he has any real coherent beliefs on the subject.
