Re: Funny how real important...
The producer makes a ton of presumptions as facts. An example, Palestine was not VASTLY underpopulated. It seemed that way to foreigners but that's because the society was mobile, almost nomadic. They survived by moving from one piece of land to another since a single piece of land is not viable enough to live on.

This guy is an idiot. No shit Palestine wasn't recognized by the Turks because it didn't exist then. It was f'ing Syria.

The man wrote this on a CG whiteboard and posted it on Youtube. That's all the credibility I need to buy every word.

Bingo.

Re: Funny how real important...
LMAO this guy is just terrible. He can't wait to mention whenever an Arab says "rivers of blood" but didn't once mention any of the Israeli invasions. It's not even worth the time I'm taking to type this sentence out.

What? You're making absolutely no sense. I know what you're referencing regarding my comments and the guilt but what on earth does that have to do with Israel deciding to pull out of the territories it was occupying and why would that action do anything to improve anything in the United States?

Re: Funny how real important...
as a jew i really hate whenever this is shit is brought up. U.S. has to focus on fixing its own problems and letting Israel fund it's own military for now. we are, have been, and will be, in too much shit ourselves to really be helping anyone on that kind of scale.

Re: Funny how real important...
To save yourself from looking like an ass from anyone who knows even the tiniest bit about middle eastern history.
Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Israel/Palestine was once a single people. The people wre divided between the French (Lebanon and Syria) and the British (Israel/Palestine and Jordan). Before then there was absolutely no distinction between the 4 countries. After this division there was a change in school of thought. When the empires left Palestine/ Jordan was just Syria with British influence. When Jordan split Palestine was a country with no national identity except they were unique in that the land they worked was being taken/given to immigrants. These immigrants were not friendly in the sense that when they took the land, they wouldn't let Arabs work it. They instead were willing to pay more money to import more immigrants in order to have more influence in the country. The Palestinians developed their personality as being in opposition to those immigrants. They are unique in the world in that they are the only people whose sole identity is one which is in opposition to another.
So the next some idiot thinks he's being clever with a whiteboard you can have your BS detector up and not embarrass yourself.

Re: Funny how real important...
how we as a country treat our own citizens and our prisoners is a fundamental issue that pre-existed our willingness to take it up the butt for Israel.
-
Re: Funny how real important...
This is an issue??? If so, it shouldn't be.

Re: Funny how real important...
I say Israel made a mistake of returning the land they won in battle. They should have kept it all.

Obama's Speech to the UN General Assembly, As Prepared
Does the man even pay attention to the words the teleprompter loads into his mouth?
Quote:
So it has been a remarkable year. The Qadhafi regime is over [through violent means -Y.]. Gbagbo, Ben Ali, and Mubarak are no longer in power[through violent means -Y.]. Osama bin Laden is gone[through violent means -Y.], and the idea that change could only come through violence has been buried with him.
WTF?

I say, if the world keeps fucking around, Israel should flatten a 100 mile fire break around their country and meet any violence from Gaza, The West Bank, or anywhere else with overwhelming, disproportionate, and sustained violence.
It's pretty obvious most of the UN would like to empower the so-called "Palestinians" and their Arab benefactors to just wipe Israel off the map. If it gets much more lop-sided, Israel should just start swinging.

Yes, if the leaders of their immediate borders cannot keep their populous from attacking Israel, I agree.
Not 100 miles, but at least a clear path so they can see any terrorist activity against them.

I think the defeat of Israel's enemies needs to be as decisive as they have been in past conflicts. The only difference; when the U.N. asks them to negotiate with Arabs again, as when they gave the Sinai back to Egypt, and Gaza and the West Bank back to the Arabs Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria ejected from their countries, Israel should tell 'em to fuck off.

I think Israel should make it clear that if these nations do not stop attacks from their lands, that Israel should just move in to where the attack came from and take it over, and keep it, until these other nation understand.

I've lost faith the other nations will ever understand. They sponsor the attacks from Gaza and they don't care what happens to the people there.
Israel needs to engage in a dedicated campaign to flatten Damascus and Tehran until they cry uncle.

Maybe you are right, but I think Israel should show in a less severity that they will not tolerate it any more. If the attacks continue, then I am with you.

Re: Funny how real important...
If/when Assad falls in Syria, it should be boon for Lebanon to be liberated from under Syria's foot, and therefore a boon to Israel in less attacks from Lebanon and Gaza. otoh, Turkey and esp Egypt seem to less friendly.
If Lebanon, post-Assad, invited US/NATO to help kick out any remaining Syrian elements, I say go in.

Oh, there's going to be more attacks.

If Israel does that, fine, I won't care either way, but I just don't think it's something the US should be wasting time or money on.
