Re: How can Duncan be that bad?
I'm sorry infinite. Duncan had the most beautiful 5 for 15 game I've ever seen. We should all be proud of the fact that offensive non-entity Ben fucking Wallace outscored him.
Damn that guy's good.
Look, Duncan is the best player in the game. But tonight he played like shit, and he played scared. I'm sorry you all are too busy kissing his ass 24-7 to realize it.

Re: How can Duncan be that bad?
damn, i just can't believe Manu sucked tonight, 6 TOs & then 2/3 defenders concentrated on Tim then almost everybody starts whining and bashing Duncan again. Is Duncan a Superman?
to all of you non-believers..........don't raise your flags if the spurs win the title and all. You simply don't deserve it.
were you expecting a sweep?
if then, you are :idiot

Portland (with Sheed) used to do the same thing to Tim. It's the same thing Karl Malone did to Tim last year in the LA series.
Watch some fucking ball and get a clue. I love Duncan, but his one fault is when teams rough him up he generally pusses out and shoots jumpers.
Personally I think the fouls got them fucked..
if you don't get calls ur way, and you get offensive fouls..
You practically can't do anything...and that's what happened to Duncan And Ginobili..
Stop dissing the Spurs.. it's a 7 game series.

Re: How can Duncan be that bad?
Yes he started shooting outside jumpers in the game but what do you expect him to do when there are three shot blockers just chillin in the lane and your not getting the calls. C'mon buddy, if he would have kept taking it in you would have been on here writiting "Why doesn't Tim take a few jumpers to clear up the lane?" He had a shitty game but he does not shy away from physical play. If anything he tries to find ways to get his game going when his first option is taken away. To be honest the ball wasn't swung around enough to get the lane open for him to operate. He's not Shaq so he's not going to knock people over when matched up. Detroit sagged in the lane and the guards and forwards got in trouble by trying to force passes inside instead of swinging it around to get open looks, that makes your big men come out for the ball and puts them in positions that you really don't want them in. So why don't you watch some ball and get a damn clue. Adjustments will be made and Duncan will once again be in your good graces.

Pass the ball to someone who was apparently wide open?

You must have watched the game with limo tint glasses on. NOBODY got open they all pretty much either sat there or brought their man to the lane.

Re: How can Duncan be that bad?
okay guys, let be serious.
Tim in my opinion was communicating well with Barry with his early passes/assists then Brent converted with 2 3s.
i just don't understand why Pops got Brent out and stopped that good setplay?
Brent could have sub-in for Manu who was slightly injured then.

Re: How can Duncan be that bad?
How does a guy, who's just shooting outside shots...gets his shot blocked 3 or 4 times going to the hole?
Watch the freakin' game.
Duncan went in strong...but, he has no elevation and kept getting his shit blocked. Blocked, inside...not outside. Meaning, one more time....THAT HE WENT TO THE HOLE!.
:bang
And Yes, he shot from the outside too...he always does...because he CAN!
And I agree...Barry shoulda been in there a lot more.

Re: How can Duncan be that bad?
TD reminded me a lot of DRob tonight. Play him physical and he will go outside and
brick shots from 12ft+

Brent filled in good for a while but there should have been some adjustments made during the game to get duncan better position down low like some screens on the block or something. Whatever happened to that play that they used to run with him and DRob when either one would have set a high screen for the other and slipped it for an alley oop?

Re: How can Duncan be that bad?
Duncan had a very bad game. Period. I'm sure he'll bounce back but that was really a stinker and very atypical for him. He seemed to have even less lift than he's had since his ankle problems. Couple that with Manu's stinker and that spells a loss. Luckily we still have two more chances to steal a game.

he's not shaq you know. he can't just run people over. if the refs aren't calling fouls on the other side, there's not much else he can do. especially w/ two bad ankles.

Re: How can Duncan be that bad?
All of you people who hate on Tim when he has a bad game usually don't acknowledge it when he has a good game. Just :stfu . Tim didn't get any calls in the paint unless the foul was COMPLETELY obvious. But his D was sub-par, I'll give you guys that.
P.S. Manu played even worse than Tim so why isn't anyone bitching about his 7 points and 6 turnovers.
Turnovers killed us this game, and Manu and Tony had 10 of our 18 turnovers. You guys are bitching about the wrong problem.
-
Re: How can Duncan be that bad?
Sorry but Tim was even worse than Manu (as bad as he was), when you take 15 shots and end up with 14pts, thats pretty bad for a guy who is your best player. He took some weak shots and played just as bad on D. He got out muscled. He was even missing open guys.
I expect a lot better from Duncan the rest of the series. He needs to produce, REGARDLESS of what anyone else does.
-
Re: How can Duncan be that bad?
The Pistons will play a lot more physical with him at home than they will on the road, so we better hope the Pistons win the next 2 before Timmy can get confortable again. IMO Ben should be guarding Duncan and Sheed guarding Horry or Nazr. Duncan likes to stay down low and so does Ben. Sheed likes to stay on the perimeter and so does Horry for the most part. I missed the first half today because of class but I think this could be favorable early on atleast to get Tim out of rythym

Re: How can Duncan be that bad?
This thread is freaking hilarious. Hating on TIMMY DUNCAN? You all must be :drunk. EVERYONE had a bad game. Not just Tim. Give him the ball at every opportunity next game. He's going for 35/20. Count on it.

Re: How can Duncan be that bad?
Yeah, let's start the trade Duncan threads! His play's so pathetic, he willed Ginobili into 7 points of his own, and let Hamilton scored at will, and made the bench sucked, and ....
Come on people, Detroit played great defense on him, and the reason is because the Spurs we not aggressive on the attack, they allowed the Pistons to rotate on defense because they didn't set good screens, because they didn't read the angles. And they sucked on D because they can't get a rebound.
BTW, Barry played alright today, so did Parker. The Pistons were playing well above their heads, and it was close until the last 8 or so minutes. But then the Pistons do that all the time, keep the game close, then blow it open in the final seconds.

Agree with most of what you said. Except, I don't think the Pistons played over their heads. They are a damn good team, and most of what happened yesterday was because of their good play.

Re: How can Duncan be that bad?
Timmy always pushes through adversity. That is what has made him a champion in the past and will make him one again.
I have complete confidence in Timmy and the team. Spurs in five, baby!

Maybe I am wrong but Tim has had bad ankles for weeks now and has elevated his game on many occasions. Manu got hurt in the first quarter and by his admission his leg was cold and stiff. Who is the idiot? This was another poor game for Duncan just like the Seattle game. He showed nothing including the will to win.

I found this board yesterday and can't believe how harsh these "Spurs fans" are when our guys have a bad night. Talk about fair weather friends.
You're right, these jerks don't deserve to be Spurs fans.

STFU! Why is it that Duncan showed nothing? Why can't it be that the Pistons shut him down? The whole offense was out of whack, no just Duncan. They had a good game plan, they played him very well. He WILL adjust and he WILL have a huge game tonight. Damn.

Re: How can Duncan be that bad?
Spurs will come back focused and determined. That game wasn't ours to steal. Detroit, with all their confetti and celebrations for winning one game will be flat in game 4. They fed off of a must win situation, frenzied crowd, and stevie wonders harmonica playing. That type of energy won't be there in game 4. We all know how well Duncan responds after an off game and this team will follow his lead. This next one is our game to steal.

I am wondering why he showed nothing myself. I think it is a lot more that he didn't come to play then the Pistons putting it on him. The Pistons don't play defense for him. Oh by the way, you STFU, I have a right to my opinion and watch as many Spurs games as you do.
