Re: Did anyone hear that PJ flew back to SA
Wow. TWO people that put a game before your family. I think the rest of them have it covered, but I'm glad to see the majority see the forest through the trees. I actually didnt realize that Amy Duncan's pregnancy was ending so soon, and didn't even think about this possibility. As a Piston fan, I want Tim to be there through the end. To win a championship, you have to beat a team at it's best. On the other hand, I'm sure as much as a Title means to Duncan, a child means infinity more. Congrats to them.

What does he owe this city? And the members of the team would be the first to tell him to go be with his wife.

I don't think the child will know the difference.

Re: Did anyone hear that PJ flew back to SA
ok i hope it doesnt happen but all yall who are going off like sean hannity rant
what happens if duncan DID decide to play, would you scoff him as much im im getting scoffed? he'd then "CHOOSE" basketball "over" family?
-
Re: Did anyone hear that PJ flew back to SA
Even if Duncan played what are the chances his mind would be on the game. Zero. Duncan's responsibility is to be with his wife. Just pray it isn't during an elimination game if she goes into labor.

Re: Did anyone hear that PJ flew back to SA
sa is not paying duncan

Yes, Duncan would lose status in my eyes if he chose to play basketball over watching his child be born.

Re: Did anyone hear that PJ flew back to SA
If his wife was cool with it, then I would be too. If his wife wanted him there and he chose not to be, I would think that was uncool.

First off, STFU with the stupid Sean Hannity dig, just because your a flamin wacko lefty has nothing to do with this.
And to answer your dumbass question.
If He chose the game over his child and his wife???
Yeah, hed lose quite a bit in my eyes.

What if Amy wanted him to go play? Would that still make him a prick if he did?

Re: Did anyone hear that PJ flew back to SA
This is the finals. Duncan would play. Get over it.

Re: Did anyone hear that PJ flew back to SA
t park why are you so enraged? nothing personal man
i didnt say anything political... and my original post, if you read it, was very understanding
i just think duncan is the kind of guy who want to play

Re: Did anyone hear that PJ flew back to SA
Oy! They obviously didn't get out a calendar to plan the pregnancy around the playoffs, so I'm sure they've now planned for anything. Shit happens. I really don't know why we're talking about this when nothing has happened yet. This thread is about PJ and his wife and that's where our thoughts should be.

they get it from the PEOPLE, not the city.
Whats your point.
Once again, he doesn't owe shit to the people of San Antonio.
Its a fuckin game, not life.

I can almost guarantee you she will not. Have you ever seen a woman in labor? :lol
It's just one of those things a man should be there for. I suppose if Amy says, "Really, sweetie, I'll be fine; I've got the best doctor in SA, my mom's here, just get home when you can..." then that's his decision. But it's not very likely, and I for one would think it extremely odd if he chose to play instead.

I wouldn't call him that. But I would definitely think he had made the wrong decision. I can't imagine that she would feel a game is more important than the birth. She might say he should play, but I'd be willing to bet she'd be lying to make him happy (as women do for their men).

because I hate fuckin people expect other human beings to put GAMES
YES GAMES
ahead of life.
Thats why.
Yes you brought politics into it by doing your stupid ass jab at Sean Hannity.
So STFU and support Duncan when he does miss a game for his wife.

Re: Did anyone hear that PJ flew back to SA
I just can't imagine that anyone would have a problem with Tim missing a basketball game -- any basketball game -- for the birth of his first child. Tim doesn't owe a damned thing to the city of San Antonio; he has amply paid most of us back by bringing such unprecedented joy over a basketball team. If you demand more than what Timmy has given, it's time to re-examine your priorities.
Timmy missed a "crucial" game in the 2002 playoffs when his father passed away, and everyone understood. Popovich told Tim then to do what was best for Tim and his family. Timmy came back for Game 5, but nobody on the Spurs roster or in the Spurs organization would have batted an eye if he had chosen to stay in St. Croix. He deserves the same consideration now, should the birth happen to coincide with a game.
It's a child, people; basketball is only a freakin' game!
