So says Pop in post-game
Well Pop needs to fix it.
We are capable of ripping the team to shreds...how about our coach get them turned around...maybe ripping them isn't the right way to go about it.
I see Pop working. He's trying to get in his guys heads so they don't do this a third straight game.
Cut it out now Pop!
ABC said 20 pts in 3rd qtr was the biggest differential in Finals series, and we ended up -31.
An ignominious stain tatooed on the Spurs which will last for years and years, decades.
Seriously if they do this 3d straight time. Might as well have the Suns in the finals.
Hopefully he won't be giving them any more silent treatments. If the last two games are any indication, he needs to put that approach on the list of things to never do again.
He always does it...the team is already down and it'll take more than beating a dead horse for us to regain the momentum.
I think pop should just say: "It's up to you guys."
Enough about gettin in a player's face and screamin ur ass off.
He simply needs to tell them that it all starts with them. These things (chance at winning an NBA championship) don't happen very often, and it if they are going to win, they will want to do it. All they need to do is have a little talk as a team, no coaches, only players...build some chemistry and some confidence amoung them, and turn this thing around.
Ripping the team will only give them more pressure.
Relax, and say, "you guys want it or not?"
Thats why you aint coaching, enough of that shit he needs to rip some ass!Quote:

Unless they turn it around and win this series!Quote:

No, Pop doers't need to pull any Phil Jackson-esque "say nothing and let them figure it out" bullshit. Not even on Tim. Rip everyone of those guy's asses and make sure they're ready to win game 5
Whatever man, it all starts with the players.Quote:

U can blame Pop for alot over the years.
But this is the NBA Finals. Noone should need there coach to rip into them to get them to play when ur 2 games from the title.
Tim and Manu and all of the to's arent on Pop. Every member of this team needs to take a good hard look in the mirror.
Losing by 31 pts in the finals is disgusting
Bingo. These 2 teams are pretty even Talent wise. The winner of this series will be whoever wants it more. It will be whoever plays with more heart, desire, pride, and determination. None of which the Spurs had tonight!Quote:

Prior to game three, it was reported Pop said nothing to the team, told them they knew what to do.
Tonight it was reported before the game that Pop asked Tim if he needed to say anything, Tim shook his head, Pop left him alone.
At the half, Pop told them he had nothing to say, and let them sit there.
That shit ain't working, why do you want him to keep it up?
The thing is, it seemed like after winning the first 2 games, the Spurs assumed that they were the 2005 champs....Even we assumed it.
After game 2 threads, I remember the championship t-shirt thread being started, and a thread about the championship DVD...and, a shit load of us were convinced that Manu was the finals MVP, even I was.
We were wrong. We forgot that it's the best of 7.
Well of course I want him to show them WTF they are doing wrong, but every once in while change things.Quote:

And if Pop ripped them all the time, you'd be complaining about that too.Quote:

There's a time when Tim Duncan needs to take personal responsibility. This is his franchise. He shouldn't be sitting on the bench in the 3rd quarter when they are down 14, looking like his dog got run over. He should be in the game .. take the ball hard to the rack, barking at his teammates if need be, rallying the troops but leading by example. Why should the Spurs role players think they could win, when Duncan is sitting on the bench in the 3rd quarter with his head in hands?! The game wasn't out of reach then, but Duncan had already conceded. That sucks!
look, pop tried to find guys who would compete tonight. that's his fucking job. at some point the players themselves have got to bring it.
Amen!Quote:
