To be fair, the Pakistani intelligence with money from Saudi Arabia created the Taliban. The U.S. did support the Afghan fighters in 80s with weapons and other stuff, but the Taliban was created in the early 90s because the Pakistanis wanted to have a loyal neighbor since it was surrounded by other enemies in the Soviets, India, and Iran. Saudi money was heavily involved in the madrassas that trained the Taliban and the Pakistani intelligence allowed them to take over Afghanistan in 1994.Quote:
