Good thing we have the journalists at CNN to warn us about all the fear mongers out there. If necessary, they're willing to just make shit up to make sure we think the right things.
Says Burnett, who believes that “global warming appears to be in full effect”:

So, the next time you’re outside enjoying the warm weather, remember this: those cherry blossoms might be really nice, but, yeah, they’re bringing super sharks with them."
What’s truly disturbing is that the story is more than two months old yet CNN still managed to get it completely wrong. No “experts” speculated that hybrid sharks were caused by climate change. That line emerged from a piece by angry leftist AFP reporter Amy Coopes, whose expertise is mainly in the field of conservative devil babies.
Actual shark expert Jessica Morgan, one of the researchers for the University of Queensland’s study, had this to say back in January:

Quote not correct – I have now stated numerous times that it is extremely unlikely that climate change caused the hybridization event – however, the hybrid-Australian blacktips are now being seen further south of their known range (Australain blacktips have a tropical distribution) in cooler waters suggesting that the hybrids may have a wider temperature tolerance than their parents (ie the hybrids may be better adapted to handle changing water temperatures).
So I agree it isn't a matter of causation and CNN was inaccurate in that respect, but it's not like the researcher denied the sharks' existence or climate change themselves.
