Mavs definitely earned it last year. Nowitzki was on fire and they played great defense. That's basically the formula for a title, good execution on offense and great defense. In fact it would probably have been a tough battle if we met up in the playoffs.

We should beat all of these teams but to me the easiest would be the Jazz. Their biggest strenghts are undersized bigmen, they suck at shooting and they just lack talent and experience.
The Spurs haven't beat the Suns or Jazz 0-4 recently. They beat the Jazz 4-1 in '07 and the Suns 4-1 in '08.

Note how I wrote 0-4 instead of 4-0 and put it in context.

Re: So Spurfan, which first round playoff opponent do you fear the most?
You can cross off Houston from that list. :lol

Re: So Spurfan, which first round playoff opponent do you fear the most?
Glad to see Houston pretty much out, would have been a tough first rounder
-
Re: So Spurfan, which first round playoff opponent do you fear the most?
The Mavs I'm positive are gonna have that 6th seed locked up so I'd say the Jazz they have a good physical big front line which would be problematic even tho they'd likely not win more then 1 game.

Shaq just said Kupchak used to tell him to take nights off down the stretch to avoid Utah in the playoffs

Re: So Spurfan, which first round playoff opponent do you fear the most?
I'm starting to fear Nash and those Suns more and more, hopefully the Jazz get that 8th spot and we remain 1st.

Yeah, I will say that their game with the Flippers tonight was pretty damn ugly to watch. I actually lost a little bit of respect after what I saw. Looked like a "Memphis-Type Crowd/Hostile Environment." Their fans were loving all the "rough-housing" and booing at every damn thing, etc, etc, even when they were blatantly to blame for something. Again, like another MMA event. Nash seemed nonchalant about it (his teamates' behavior) as well. Playing for their "Playoff Lives" indeed. Shit is right around the freakin' corner, man.

You've been a Spurs fan for about two years, right? :lol

Who fucking fears PHX? Hey, in the playoffs you don't get weak opponents(well at least in the west) and you should feel lucky to have phx in your bracket.

:lol Yeah, that still stings a bit. The Suns fans beat everyone in the whining and rigteous indignation department though. :)

I hate Suns fan more than about anyone's arena crowd. Started in '07 when they were chucking water bottles at Duncan when ABC was trying to interview him after the game.

Denver and Utah fans have also thrown stuff during playoff games against the Spurs.

If Phoenix wins their last two (@Utah and Spurs), then they finish 8th.

Yeah but Suns are not gonna win against Utah and Spurs.

But if the Suns do beat Utah, then the Spurs will be able to choose to play the Suns in the first round by tanking the game on Wednesday.
Btw- Suns have won 7 straight games over the Jazz going back to March, 2010.

Which will only give the Jazz more incentive. I just dont see the Suns beating them at home.
Also, Spurs are not a lock yet. Lets see what the fakers do tomorrow. I think if Thunder lose tomorrow then Spurs will tank the Phoenix game. If not, I dont see Spurs losing to them. (even with our bench)

I don't see the Spurs losing to any of the Cavs, Blazers, or Warriors. That's enough regardless of the outcome of the OKC-Laker game.
Anyway, they'll be interested observers of the Suns-Jazz game.

I dont think any of our guys will play the last two games. Pop will probably call in the Toros lineup or something.
After what happened last year I dont think Pop will risk anyone getting injure for placement in the standing's sake.
