Credit where it is due
At the start of the season, everyone was talking about how Oklahoma City is going to breeze through the West. But the Spurs have come from nowhere and are on the cusp of taking the West.
Credit goes to the Spurs for playing well and winning enough games. Pop has been lambasted, shitted on, picked apart, torn a new one, bashed in this forum for his weird coaching decisions. As a fan of a team who had a coach of the same cloth, I think you fans should trust him more. Pop has found a deep well of players who fit in the system and the players are rewarding him for his trust.
Duncan is turning those hands of time despite 15 years of mileage, Ginobili is refilling that tank, and Parker has been their driving force with an MVP-like (yes, I am not laughing at it) season. Too bad that I don't think he wins it, because let's face it, the MVP is an award for the media. Championships, however, are not.
I like to talk shit that the Spurs are fool's gold and I still think they are, but if they prove me wrong and go all the way, I would accept and eat the shit sandwich for trash-talking.
Venti Quattro, giving credit where it is due.

Re: Credit where it is due
Speaking of credit where it's due, Kobe deserves a lot for trying to let his team play the way they did when he was out. When they didn't step up, he did. Very clutch performance.

Yep I was really impressed with Metta, and then he proved that World Peace is a pipe dream.

I think the question is who is NOT fools gold this year? There are no great teams, so the combination of high power offense and experience can take you a long way.

Re: Credit where it is due
Seriously, guys. This is important. Kobe finally had a clutch game. He went 6-12 to end the game. That's got to be some kind of record.

World Peace should be credited for the Lakers win. He took our OKC best closer. No surprise they choked the lead away without Harden on the floor.

Westbrook was horrible at the end of the game and OT. He can only take them so far. Imo, Harden is a better PG. Much smarter.

Re: Credit where it is due
Much appreciated, Venti. GNSF doesn't realize you're one of the good ones.
-
Re: Credit where it is due
Yeah Venti thanks for the compliments, its good to see the rivalry still brings out the best of these two teams.

We didn't make him..he took a bet on the Spurs/Lakers series, and the Lakers lost. It was a sig bet. Nothing personal..just a friendly bet. I'm sure he'll have it off by next week.

tough shit with Barca, btw. first it was the first leg against fuckin Chelsea then Madrid more or less clinching La Liga at Nou Camp. I think they've got it back at home in the second leg though. even if Chelsea scores I can see Barca managing to win by two goals.

Thank you, sir. :toast
I believe in them more than I have in any other year since 2007. Hard to see them having a better chance at putting 5 in the case.

Re: Credit where it is due
Credit goes to where it is due -- the Spurs took the Thunder's best shot, ate it, chewed it real good and then spat it out the Thunder's faces. :rollin
