Honestly, if a sane and logical person is going to tell you Tony Parker doesn't deserve some MVP consideration because he plays on a deep team with a solid coach, then that same person should be fair enough to tell you that Lebron James doesn't deserve it because he plays with two other superstars.
It's pointless debating with a guy who can't admit as much.
Either way, I'm not sure what that says about your league if you're unwilling to toss the best player on the winningest team in the west some MVP consideration. San An is one game away from clinching the top seed, it takes an absolute turd to say they'd be in the same position without Parker.
If I didn't know better, I'd say this twitter guys wife slept around on him with a frenchmen and he's now harboring resentment towards all that is Vive-La-France.
I say "Vive le petit Frenchman".
(ps. I rather see Parker obtain his second Finals MVP, There's no denying him love/respect if he's playing at this same level in June and the S&B come out on top).

:lol
Its not the same thing. LeBron is widely considered the best player in the league despite having Wade on his team. Parker isnt considered Top 10. Therefore best player on top team can apply for the former but not the latter. Its not that hard to understand, homers. Parker deserves some consideration but you cant put him in the same category as Bron. He isnt a serious contender for the award.

Re: Is Parker being involved in the MVP talk "laughable"?
MVP only matters if it has the world Finals before it. WGAF about the regular season if you're not hoisting the :lobt2:
He deserves to be recognized for his contributions, his willingness to step in and take over a team that he's long been #2 on, and his experience.

I'm most likely a giant blind ball and silver homer for disagreeing but, wanted to run it by the sound board first.
LeBron plays with two top 15 players in the NBA including a top 3 player next to him. The dude you're arguing with is obviously an idiot of he's voting for LeBron "period, no debate" without applying his own logic :lol

Re: Is Parker being involved in the MVP talk "laughable"?
I think most of us agree Tony's play has warranted some nods and some votes, but none of us really think he's going to win the MVP nor does he actually deserve to win it

As Spurs fans, you should realize how important defense is by now. Parker plays none of it; meanwhile Duncan is still great on defense. There are 2 ends of the court.
Parker as the 3rd best Spur???? Are on crack man?
Have you heard about Kawhi defense? And Diaw? And Green? As you say, there are 2 ends of the court. Parker shouldn't be considered better than the 6th or 7th option in this team.

FkLA is a Spurs fan from US with a #20 jersey and a gif of pop yelling at TP in his sig
FkLA created a nice :lol parker thread
FkLA thinks Parker tends to disappear against big front courts hence the disappointing TP performances against the most powerful front court in the nba
FkLA thinks in 2012 TP is the third best player of the spurs
FkLA is saying he is not a hater
FkLA thinks because I have a French flag I just suck TP's balls. He also probably think I became a spur fan because of TP a bit like Patttyyyy MILLLSSS dude
FkLA is a well known non biased spurs fan with great bb takes
FkLA thinks will spurs is the biggest tp homie (I have to confess I'm a little bit disappointed, I thought I earned the crown)
FkLA probably thinks French stink and French give up against adversity :lol defeated by Nazi Germany
FkLA should definitely be in the conversation for best ST poster

Re: Is Parker being involved in the MVP talk "laughable"?
Parker was the Final MVP during the last championship year. If the Spurs win it all, chances are he would be again. I imagine that would suit him just fine.
-
Re: Is Parker being involved in the MVP talk "laughable"?
Parker was damn valuable early in the season when Ginobili was out and Duncan looked like he was over the hill. TP was as valuable as any player in the NBA in that stretch of games around the Rodeo Road Trip where he was carrying the team night in and night out.
Recently, with Ginobili back and Duncan playing like he turned back the clock, Parker hasn't been as valuable ... but then again it'd be foolish if he was playing the same way. He doesn't need to play like an MVP right now; his goals should be to stay healthy and keep racking up the Ws.
Tbh, I'd probably have TP ranked somewhere between 3 and 6 in the MVP race.
P.S.
FkLA is turning into the ducks of CoM. This cat falls in love with every backup point guard the Spurs bring in. From Temple to Hill ... hell, he even tried to divert attention away to TP and to Patty Mills by highlighting his towel waving after the Laker beat downs :lol
That said, if it's schtick, I give it a B+.

Sorry to break it to you, but if Duncan keeps up what he's been doing for the last 3 weeks or so, he's gonna end up with the finals MVP, on emotion/nationalism/end of career respect votes alone.

How am I backpedaling? These past two games vs LA doesnt change the fact that hes had a tendency to shrink against big, physical teams.

No. The poster said Tony had been #2 for so long, I said he had been #3. Hes higher now though obviously.

Re: Is Parker being involved in the MVP talk "laughable"?
ps I never fell in love with Temple. Dont know where that came from. The Patty towel waving thread had nothing to do with diverting attention away from Parker either, just wanted to give Patty props for being a good teammate.

Re: Is Parker being involved in the MVP talk "laughable"?
Wouldnt call that falling in love tbh. The it I was referring to was his fearlessness not his talent. I wasnt expecting him to replace Tony or anything of that sort. He played well to end that 2010 season and I was giving him props, nothing more.
